"Thank you," David said as he nodded to his nieces and brother while they made their way up under the guidance of the stewards.

Meanwhile, behind them, Adeyemi and his parents could be seen walking slowly but heading toward their own rooms.

David didn't need to mind or watch over their conversation.

Nigerian parents had this weird, innate need to create connections everywhere. It was the same for both high-income and low-income families, almost as though it came with the parent title.
