Chapter 35: Well Done, Maya

The mood at the table after Vincent unexpectedly said that was indescribable. Maya had to keep playing along with him to shock them even further before they recovered. 

She returned her husband's smile warmly and laced her fingers through his on top of the table where everyone else could see. "Aww, you're sweet! I doubt it's as cute as you when you get grease smudges on your face from working in the garage though."

He blushed, which made her statement seem more realistic. "You're just saying that."

"No, I mean it! It's adorable," Maya replied and tapped him on the nose with her finger to emphasize her point. That only made his blush worse. 

Everyone was staring at them uncomprehendingly even more than before. It was as if the charade had broken their brains.
