"Why did you miss your engagement party, Hazel?" I heard mother ask, her question was so sudden that I was lost for words. "I...I wasn't thinking straight then." I said. "I understand, I guess it's because of the pressure we put on you, and we're so sorry for that." Mother said warmly with a brief smile.

"You all must wonder why we're having this dinner tonight. I called everyone because we're having another engagement party next week. That's after the Balowe's heiress's marriage to Carlos." Mr. Oliver said. "I hope this time you don't miss the party. Cause I won't be attending another meeting to condone your uncultured attitude." Grandma started.

"You should know I'll family has certain rules that need to be followed." She continued.

"Yes, that's a good idea so everyone would know Hazel's Alex's wife." Mother cut in trying to cover Grandma's heavy insults on me.
