Chapter 17: Training

After choosing their team's name Zaho decided to start explaining what they should focus on.

Zaho: "In the next few years we will spend in the academy, you guys have to focus on spell learning and absorbing at the very least every second level magical atom of all the basics elements"

Samuel: "it should be possible to do this, but to graduate successfully I heard that having a level 3 atom is a must"

Zaho: "Don't worry about the level three atom, it is not efficient enough to look for it around here, even though water element density is higher here it only represents around 60%"

Zaho: "But during the different tests, missions or even special lessons he will definitely go out in the sea where water element density is around 90%"

Zaho: "This density difference will allow you to increase your chances of finding a level three water element atom by almost 10000%"

Jason nodded as he already knew that most students promote to a level three mage outside the academy.

Zaho continued: "Training is all about efficiency and optimizing your time" as he said this sentence Zaho started recalling about the different environment he trained in, he remembered the first time he was thrown in a volcano, he remembered as he was buried underground for several years ... there was also a time when he nearly drowned is a deep-sea as he couldn't yet bread underwater, luckily Sebastian's constant healing helped him to survive until he noticed the issue and taught him how to breathe underwater.

Seeing him lost in thoughts Lea started to call him.

Lea: "Zaho?Zaho ?...what are you thinking about?"

Zaho: "I was just thinking about the start of my training when my master was still going easy on me and taking care of me"

If Lea knew that the best memories he had about his training were bathing in lava or drowning she certainly wouldn't trust him for developing a training plan for them.

But Zaho knew too well how hard it was to bath in lava with the body of a level 1 warrior, he wasn't stupid to make them endure the same suffering he had to endure that's why he would wait until they reach level 2 at the very least before throwing them in lava...

The next few hours were spent to help Lea and Albert get familiar with the system, Zaho explained that training alone wasn't as efficient as having someone teaching you.

He pointed at the different mistakes Jason was committing when using a water element spell

Zaho: "When using the water ball spell, you have to separate the spell in several steps at first, you first create water out of thin air, then you will try to pressurize it and last you will have to shoot it"

Zaho: "The first step is about your mastery of water element, is your sense sharp enough to feel were water humidity is the higher and can you imagine well enough this process."

Zaho: "Improving the first step will help you cast all water spell faster"

Zaho: "The second step is all about the control of the water, to make it take the shape you want and see for how long you can stay focused to let it conserve that shape, improving the second step will help you make more powerful and is beneficial for more complicated shapes for higher-level spells"

"The last step in about moving the water and throwing it where you intend to, this step is all about how to make your water ball gain as much as possible kinetic energy without losing in precision. This last step will help you in multiples aspect more than the additional power generated by the speed it will be harder for your opponents to avoid it as they will have less time to react."

Jason, Lea, Albert, and Samuel stared at Zaho feeling astounded. processing what they heard took them half an hour.

Jason: "I never thought about it this way... I was focusing on this spell and never knew how to improve it except for repeatedly casting it. Now I know witch area I still lack on!"

Zaho: "For training the first part you just have to generate water, again and again, trying to think about the different images that seem to correspond to materializing water and keep on improving them "

"For training the second part, you don't need to generate water go fill a cup or a bowl of water and start controlling its shape for as long as you can"

"As for the last part doing it with existing water is also much more efficient than having to generate it each time so training near a pool or somewhere with a lot of water is more efficient."

Jason: "..."

Lea: "..."

Albert: "..."

Samuel: "..."

Jason started training generating water again and again and it only two hours to progressed his water proficiency by 1%, he remembred the 10 hours he spent last night and understood the difference.

Jason & Samuel 'Why the hell did we waste our time training yesterday I should have followed Zaho instruction and went to sleep.'

At around 6 p.m they decided to suspend the training as Jason and Samuel who spent all night awake were about to collapse unconscious out of tiredness.

They also decided to spend form that day forward all the afternoons training together.
