Davi was dumbfounded for a moment as her eyes were glued to the man standing at the doorway but as soon as she heard the dial tone, signaling that the call had ended, she finally snapped awake.

She slowly put her cellphone down and she felt her ears suddenly heating up as the man started to walk closer to her.

That moment, Davi's emotions were getting ahead of herself. Sei's appearance was like magic, a "now you see me, now you don't" kind of trick, making her temporarily lose her brain's ability to process things. While Sei was getting closer, time just seemed to slowed down for Davi and she could only watch him come closer and closer, her mind completely blank.
