I think I died? Not that it matters because my life was over anyway. I was just being sent to prison for killing people who tried to kill me when the plane crashed. I opened my eyes and saw a dark room that seemed to go on forever with about 30 people. I recognized some as the other prisoners on the plane.
Some of them seemed to be in shock while others were calm. Some people seemed to be hearing something for a bit until they dissapeared.
"Subject number 5, beginning test."
Said a monotone voice suddenly. It said it was testing me but for what? I looked around to see if anybody else heard the voice and it seemed like no one else did. After about 3 minutes it spoke again.
"Subject number 5, confirmed test results positive. Beginning transmission of soul."
I felt like I was falling. I couldn't see anything but i felt cold and warm at the same time. It felt like i was swimming through water and at the same time some sort of metal was brushing against my skin. Some time later I felt my consciousness fading rapidly so I just let it happen.
....
I awoke to the same monotone voice.
"Transmission of soul complete. Beginning body and mind fusion."
What followed was a feeling as if I was submerged in molten metal. I couldn't scream but if I could I probably wouldn't have lungs anymore. After what felt like an eternity I could feel a body but it didn't feel like I was in control.
"Body and mind fusion completed. Performing scan... bodily calibration required. Beginning bodily calibration."
I was forced to move which felt as if I was lagging in a game. Whenever I felt the slightest bit of that lag a piercing cold pain would shoot through whatever place was lagging. It felt like nothing compared to before and actually quite calming now. It felt like when I was falling through that weird space earlier.
It started feeling soothing after what I thought was an hour. It stopped after another 15 minutes.
"Bodily calibration complete. System installation complete. Subject number 5, Maverick, complete."
