Chapter 9: People's Party

35 minutes ago, at Mr. Thep's house.

"Thank you for coming, Mr. Pridi," I greeted and thanked Mr. Pridi for attending today's meeting. We had gathered today at Mr. Thep's house to discuss our revolution. Then, I greeted another man who was a close friend of Mr. Prayoon.

"Mr. Tatsanai, pleased to meet you."

"Likewise, Mr. Tula."

Major Luang Tatsanai Niyomsuk, originally named Tatsanai Mitrapakdi (22 September 1900 - 10 May 1933), was a former Thai cavalry officer and one of the original founders of the People's Party (Khana Ratsadon) in Paris, France, who led the Siamese Revolution of 1932.

Today, most of the members of the People's Party had gathered at Mr. Thep's house as summoned by Mr. Prayoon for an urgent and important meeting.

After welcoming everyone, we entered Mr. Thep's house to begin the meeting. When Mr. Thep saw me enter, he started the meeting.

"Today, Mr. Prayoon and I have called this meeting to inform you that we have someone who can help us with the revolution, but this person needs our assistance as they have been captured." Hearing this, everyone was shocked. One member raised his hand to ask a question; it was Phraya Ritthi Akhane.

Colonel Phraya Ritthi Akhane, one of the "Four Tigers," was a senior army officer and commander. Phraya Ritthi Akhane, originally named Sala Emasiri, was born on 14 January 1889. He was the son of Phraya Manusorn Sastrabanchorn (Siri Emasiri) and Lady Lueab Emasiri, an artillery officer.

"May I ask who this person is?" Phraya Ritthi Akhane asked curiously. Mr. Prayoon answered.

"We cannot reveal that at this moment, but when you meet him, you will know," he said calmly.

"How can we find this person?" asked Mr. Kuang Aphaiwong.

Kuang Aphaiwong, a civilian member of the People's Party, participated in the Siamese Revolution of 1932. He was previously titled Deputy Chief Administrator of the Department of Communications and held several ministerial positions.

"I know where he is," said a mysterious man who had joined our party unknown to us. He asked to be called the Professor.

"What do you mean, Professor?" a member asked.

"You will see soon enough. Mr. Tula, I suggest you go to Mr. Prayoon's house because you will meet him there in 30 minutes." I was surprised to hear this, but his words were trustworthy since he had already demonstrated his brilliance to us. When we first met him, we thought he was insane because we couldn't understand his speech, but he was introduced to us by Dr. Tua Laphanukrom.

Sergeant First Class Pharmacist Dr. Tua Laphanukrom (21 October 1898 - 27 August 1941) was a Thai pharmacist and scientist, one of the founding members of the People's Party, who revolutionized the governance of Thailand into a democracy in 1932. Dr. Tua held several important positions in public service and politics, including Director-General of the Department of Science, member of the People's Committee, and Minister.

The Professor's brilliance lay in his ability to predict the near future, though not in detail, which astonished us. Trusting his words, I went to Mr. Prayoon's house and eventually met Mr. A-Tee.

"Wow, he is very interesting," Mr. A-Tee said with surprise after hearing what I had to say. He continued, "He couldn't be from the future, could he? Because there is no Professor mentioned in history." I was stunned by what Mr. A-Tee said but kept it to myself for the time being.

Arriving at Mr. Thep's house, we saw many people gathered, and I later learned they were members of the People's Party, including Mr. Pridi Banomyong and Plaek Phibunsongkhram, making me realize I was among the People's Party.

"Mr. A-Tee, what happened to you? Are you alright?" Mr. Prayoon asked.

"I'm fine. I will explain everything. It seems I need to introduce myself," Mr. A-Tee responded.

"Of course. Ahem, everyone, this is Mr. A-Tee, an important figure you all know."

"Hello, everyone. You can call me A-Tee. I'm from the future."

"What!?"

Everyone was shocked. I explained my background and provided evidence that I was from the future. I shared what I had experienced that day. Initially, they were surprised but gradually became pleased.

"You didn't reveal details about the revolution, did you?" Mr. Prayoon asked.

"Of course not. They only know a revolution will happen, and I told them it is necessary," I said firmly.

"Even so, we need to gather more members," Mr. Thep said. Indeed, as Mr. Thep mentioned, though King Rama VII agreed with the change in governance, some senior nobles would certainly oppose it.

"So, we need to prepare. What should we do if His Majesty agrees with us?" Phraya Ritthi Akhane asked.

"Should we negotiate with the royal palace to facilitate coordination?" Mr. Pridi suggested thoughtfully.

"Mr. A-Tee, besides His Majesty, did anyone else know you are from the future?" a member asked. Recalling the morning, I answered.

"If I remember correctly, besides King Rama VII, there were four other advisors sitting beside the table. Do you know them?" My response brought a silence to the room before a member spoke.

"Are you saying Prince Boriphat Sukhumphan, the Prince of Nakhon Sawan, also knows about this?" Prince Boriphat Sukhumphan, the Prince of Nakhon Sawan, was unknown to me, so I asked.

"Who is he?"

Mr. Tula patted my back and explained.

"Prince Boriphat Sukhumphan is our benefactor, and some of us are his people." Oh, I see, some People's Party members are his protégés.

"Don't worry, I didn't reveal details about the revolution or the names of the plotters, so there's no need to worry." They seemed relieved by my words. We continued discussing for a while before everyone went their separate ways. Before I left, a man approached me.

"Mr. A-Tee, may I have a word with you?" The man, who looked slightly Indian and wore glasses, seemed unfamiliar from my historical knowledge. I noticed he wore a digital watch, leading me to believe he might be the Professor Mr. Tula mentioned and possibly from the future.

"Are you the one who calls himself the Professor?" I asked.

"That's correct. I am the Professor. Finally, I have found you. Shall we find a quiet place to talk?" he suggested with a slightly cunning tone.

"Not now. I haven't had breakfast yet. Let me eat first unless you are treating me," I said as my stomach growled.

"Sure, I'll treat you. But first, let's get your car," he agreed. I waved to Mr. Tula to come over, and the Professor asked.

"Did you travel back in time with a car?"

"Yes, for some reason, while driving to a job interview, I ended up in this era," I explained. Mr. Tula then asked.

"What do you need?"

"Can you help me get my car? The Professor here is treating me to a meal."

"Alright," Mr. Tula agreed. He took us to the police station to retrieve my car, which drew a crowd of locals and police officers. We got into the car to find a restaurant, and as I drove, I noticed the Professor scanning my car with a device.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Oh, I'm checking the temporal energy in your car."

"What is temporal energy?" I asked.

"When you traveled back in time, you passed through a strange tunnel. During that journey, temporal energy attached to you or your car, granting special abilities," the Professor explained. Mr. Tula, hearing this, was intrigued. I continued questioning the Professor.

"Have you told anyone about your secret?"

"About being from the future? No, only those I trust and you," he replied, surprising Mr. Tula further.

"Wait, Professor, are you also from the future?" Mr. Tula asked.

"Yes, but please don't tell anyone. I trust Mr. A-Tee, and he trusts you," the Professor responded.

"Understood," Mr. Tula nodded. I then asked.

"How did you end up in this era, Professor?"

"It's a long story," he sighed.
