The next day Dan woke up with a headache.
"Is it because of using Lang constantly? "Dan had a guess but he wasn't completely sure.
He slowly sat up on his bed and massaged his head. It felt like something sharp was moving inside his brain.
"Hmm. Isn't this just the perfect excuse to not go to school? "Dan was instantly ecstatic after thinking about it and got out of bed with a smile on his face.
But then the pain sharply increased causing him to nearly stumble and fall. His face contorted in pain as he sat back down on the bed and massaged his head with both his hands. It seemed that the pain would increase if he moved.
"Just like the days when I first got Lang back on earth. "Dan thought. This headache was definitely because of him overworking Lang who used his brain as a computer to do its calculations. Lang was a player and Dan's brain was the field.
Dan slowly stood up and walked outside. His steps were slow and steady as he tried not to make any sudden movements that might aggravate his headache.
He made his way to the bathroom and stumbled into his new mom.
"You're up early. "She said as she descended the stairs.
Dan didn't reply. He was too focused on making his way to the bathroom.
"What happened Honey? "Emma asked after noticing Dan massaging his head with one hand while walking slowly and carefully.
Dan glanced at Emma, "Nothing, just a headache. "
Emma approached Dan and put her palm on Dan's forehead, checking if he had a fever. Dan nearly pulled his head away but stopped himself. He was supposed to be her son.
"Oh. You have a slight fever too. Rest in the house today, Okay? " Emma said with a concerned face and tousled Dan's hair while Dan stared at her with a gaping mouth.
"It's that easy? "Dan thought as he realized Ian's parents were idiots, caring about Ian's well-being only and not caring about what he did.
"You take medicine after breakfast and rest okay? "Emma said and walked down the stairs probably on her way to the kitchen.
Dan nodded at her and again began his long journey to the bathroom. "Really. This makes my job just easier if they don't care what I do or where I go. "He thought as he finally arrived at the bathroom. He freshened up and walked back to his room.
Today was supposed to be the first day of his training but the headache made it impossible for Dan to do nearly anything.
Dan sighed and sat down on the bed. He had been inside the house since he had woken up and hadn't gone outside. But maybe, today he should take a look outside.

Dan stood outside the house and looked around the community. It was like suburbs back in his world and there were numerous identical small wooden houses with a front yard.
Dan could see skyscrapers far away which was probably the central area of Zyron city and that was also where he wanted to go and look around, familiarizing with the city.
It was now around 10 AM and Dan's parents had left for their restaurant already which allowed Dan to leave the house peacefully.
And that was when an irritating voice cut through the air. "Why didn't you go to school today, kid? "An old man who was one of their neighbours shouted at Dan.
Dan turned to the old man to see him watering some plants as he spied on his neighbours. He was your typical grumpy old man living his boring life which they would try to liven up by gossip or berating others. Ian didn't even know this old man's name. But the old man did get along with his parents.
"Cause I got an headache. "Dan shouted back and started walking away towards the inner city not giving the old man any more attention.
He had to hail a taxi from the main road that was a minute's walk away from the house for such a long journey.
Half an hour later, Dan stood outside a coffee shop with tall skyscrapers all around him. He had bought a cup of coffee hoping that it would soothe his headache as he wanted to walk around the city.
He was in the area where there were offices and most importantly the metahuman's association which was an organization that was run by the government but catered to only metahumans. Normal people were said to be not even allowed inside. And that's where Dan wanted to go and take a look.
Dan arrived outside the metahumans association after a bit of walking. The building was at least fifteen stories tall and had black glass windows covering the whole building making it look like a big black box.
A big M was hung on the front of the building with LED lights flashing now and then probably representing metahumans.
It was not that good but it did the job of being the unique building of this area.
Dan smiled as he stared at the building and took a sip of the coffee. His headache had decreased a bit and it didn't flare up now every time he walked.
Dan had seen what he considered important in this city, the metahuman's association. So, he decided to go back to the house and ask Lang to devise a good training regime for him to start training his body. He had no time to waste if he wanted to become a metahuman.
Give me some power stones guys. I need them to write more chapters.
