((Oi, wake up idiot.))
"Hmm…?"
Al twitched as he slowly opened his eyes, blinking to snap out of his sleepy daze.
'Good morning love.'
((Morning…wait, that's not it. Here, take a look at this.))
Several system messages suddenly appear in Al's vision, nearly blinding him.
((The System was updated when you finally got a Soul Ring and became a Spirit Master, but I didn't want to disturb you since you were having so much fun bonding with your daughter.))
'…you just forgot since you were too caught up chatting with Ah Yin, didn't you?'
((Teehee~!))
'…sigh. What do I do with you…'
Al shook his head as he glanced at the notifications.
((Well, although I said it's an update, it's more like I managed to grab a couple more benefits for you from the System mainframe. Events that majorly affect you, like going from 'civilian' to 'Spirit Master', will give me openings I need to find and exploit the loopholes of the System mainframe. And this 'update' is a result of everything I managed to grab this time without being detected and erased.))
'You're doing some really dangerous stuff without my knowledge huh…'
((Now, now, I didn't risk my existence just to get berated.))
A small smile appeared on his face as he listened to Ella's words.
((For starters, you can now get special points called 'Upgrade Points' every time you affect the original destiny, the 'plot' of the world, in a significant manner. And these upgrade points, which we will call UP from now on, can be used to level up the skills you already have.))
((Ah, but your highest leveled skill can't be more than 5 levels above your lowest leveled one, so make sure not to learn too many skills. The number of UP you need for each level up literally doubles after all.))
'Hoh? So I can finally do something about those 'Lv-1' tags beside every skill I have?'
Al glanced at his Status which El had called up, knowing his thoughts without him having to word them out.

((Before you ask, you got UP for all the changes you made to the plot till now as well. Let's see…making the children of Holy Spirit Village significant gave you 1 UP, making Holy Spirit Village prosperous gave you another. Others would be, giving Tang San a good childhood, changing his first Spirit, changing his second Spirit, making him your loyal 'brother', sharing skills with him hence making him stronger than ever, making him betray his father (in a way), telling him the truth about his parents, and finally, making him choose to go to Spirit Hall. Then there's changing Xiao Wu's fate just by meeting her, as well as by preventing her meeting with Tang San. And preventing Tang San from meeting the 'Master'. Oh, of course, taking sister Yin and reviving her too.))
((Now, that might look like it's quite a lot of UP to you, but level 1 skills take 2 UP to go to level 2, level 2 skills take 4 UP to go to level 3, level 3 skills take 8 UP to go to level 4, and so on and so forth, so really, 14 UP isn't much.))
'I see…I guess it's a good thing I didn't learn other skills.'
Al had indeed been tempted to learn Tang San's hidden weapon and blacksmithing and medicinal and poisonous skills, but now he was glad he didn't.
'Although there can be a 5 level difference, with how high UP consumption is at higher levels…'
'Wait.'
As he was thinking, however, Al suddenly remembered something else.
'Then what happens to new skills I learn?'
((Oh, those, they will be listed as level 0 skills and will have absolutely no effect until you get enough UP to upgrade them to a suitable level.))
'Well now…'
Al sighed as he nodded.
'Seven skills…and exactly 14 UP. What a pleasant coincidence.'
((Upgrading skills now…))
Al's mind trembled as he felt the changes almost instantly.
At the same time, all those with whom he shared his skills also felt the change, as the two closest to him, Xia Yun and Xia Yan, woke up.
"Big" "brother?"
"Oh, good morning you tw-?"
Al paused mid sentence and blinked as he looked down at his body. He had been communicating with Ella, and thus didn't notice his surroundings clearly, but now that he looked properly…
"Wait…Xiao Wu?"
He looked at the sleeping and drooling little girls occupying his chest blankly.
"I thought that was Ai…oh, there you are."
Looking around, he found his adorable 'daughter' sleeping curled up and fully covered by the blanket on his feet, just below Xiao Wu.
"Mm…nn?"
Just then, the rabbit-girl seemed to have woken up as she opened her eyes and subconsciously rubbed them as she sat upright.
"Ah…? Wasn't I…sleeping in the…corner…?"
Then, her big dazed eyes looked down to find Al's staring right into hers.
"…"
"…"
"Oh, good morning Pervert."
"Is that like my new nickname now…?"
It took her a moment to realise where she was, before…
"Kyaaaaaa! Pervert!"
*slap!*
"Ouch! My hand! Do you have an iron plate in your mouth too!?"
Ignoring the rabbit who jumped off the bed and glared at him, Al rubbed the twin's heads as a greeting and hugged Ai who was just waking up.
"Morning Ai."
"Mm…papa…morning."
'So cute.'
He smiled as another day of his life began with a weird, yet cheerful start.
"Hey! Don't ignore me, pervert!"
