As soon as Uchiha Natsu's voice fell, scattered raindrops began to fall from the sky. The moment these raindrops touched the earth, they quickly evaporated, transforming into invisible steam that rose back into the sky with the heat.
A cool droplet landed on Hiruzen Sarutobi's forehead, snapping him back to reality. Glancing at Uchiha Natsu's resolute expression, Hiruzaru couldn't shake off the feeling that he was standing beside an upright hero, contrasting with his own position as a potential villain.
Wiping the sweat from his forehead, Hiruzen Sarutobi spoke in a deep voice, "That's for the best; then, all the Uchiha clan, follow me to the prison. If it is discovered later on, I will make sure to provide you with an explanation."
On the other side, Danzo, with wide-open eyes, was about to voice his concerns. However, he realized there was nothing more to say, and the conflict could not escalate any further today.
Danzo was perplexed. The Uchiha clan, initially leaning towards rebellion, agreed to go to prison so readily. Going to prison meant being restrained by special chakra-inhibiting chains. Wouldn't this make the Uchiha clan vulnerable to others' control?
Even though Uchiha Natsu, being young, might not have thought this through, the two experienced ninjas with years of police force service didn't object!
Even if Danzo couldn't comprehend it, the reality remained unchanged. Uchiha Natsu, along with the entire Uchiha clan, were escorted to Konoha Prison under the custody of Nebu and Anbu.
Thousands of individuals were imprisoned together, filling the previously half-occupied cells. It wasn't until all Uchiha clan members were handcuffed without resistance that Danzo finally accepted that the Uchiha clan had indeed chosen voluntary imprisonment.
As the prison door slammed shut, the atmosphere became somber. Uchiha Natsu surveyed the surroundings. Konoha's prison had a semi-underground structure with two floors, and the second floor was aligned with the outside ground level. The middle was hollow, surrounded by aisles where two ninjas stood guard, overseeing the cells.
Uchiha Natsu's location was in the basement, with grid-like iron bars separating the cell from the corridor. The air was cold and damp, devoid of warmth even in summer. Each breath carried a faint, musty smell, typical of a prison environment.
Observing the chain lock on his wrist, Uchiha Natsu extended his hand and gripped the iron bars in front of him. A distinct crunch echoed as the iron bars easily bent and snapped back. If not for the chakra-restraining handcuffs, any ninja could easily escape.
However, Uchiha Natsu had no intentions of escaping; after all, his current form wasn't his main body. Tiehuo stood nearby, testing the strength of the chains on the handcuffs. After realizing their resilience, Tiehuo abandoned the idea of breaking free.
Making a cracking sound, Tiehuo raised his head and asked, "Senior Natsu, what should we do next?" The other individuals in the cell, including Uchiha clan members from nearby cells, also looked on, awaiting instructions.
"Wait," Uchiha Natsu uttered a single word. Silence fell in the prison, followed by Uchiha individuals near the prison exchanging messages, all saying "Wait."
After receiving Uchiha Natsu's response, Tiehuo refrained from further questions, turning to walk towards a bedside. However, the unhygienic state of the bed made him recoil. Observing the dirtiness, including a booger sticking to the pillow, Tiehuo abandoned the idea of sitting down and returned to Uchiha Natsu's side.
At that moment, the prison door creaked open, and an Anbu ninja wearing a fox-faced mask entered – Hatake Kakashi.
Kakashi took off his mask, held the iron bars with both hands and frowned. "What's going on? Why are all the Uchihas locked in?"
The accompanying guard ninja hesitated to stop Kakashi but decided against it due to Kakashi's identity. Turning away, he pretended not to notice and inspected other cells.
Seeing Kakashi, Uchiha Natsu was a bit surprised. An Anbu directly under Hokage ran over to visit him right after he was imprisoned. However, given Kakashi's character, he felt a sense of reassurance. After all, the two had been companions for a period, and their usual relationship was amicable.
"It's nothing; it's just a misunderstanding, and it will be resolved soon," Uchiha Natsu said with a smile.
Kakashi surveyed the surroundings and, upon seeing the Uchiha clan members, couldn't help but recall his late friend. Since inheriting Obito's eyes, he had promised to see the world clearly on his behalf. Now, it was time to help the Uchiha clan in their time of trouble.
Kakashi turned to Uchiha Natsu and spoke firmly, "I will do my best to help you clarify this misunderstanding."
Uchiha Natsu remained silent for a while, then made a trusting expression, nodded, and said, "Please do."
"Wait for me." Kakashi put his mask back on, turned around, and swiftly headed towards the gate.
Uchiha Natsu raised his hand and pinched the bridge of his nose. Just as Kakashi left, another group entered – Uzuki Yugao and Hyuga Rena, the latter holding a little guy.
Uzuki Yugao, breaking her usual calm demeanor, urgently asked, "Teacher, what's going on?"
Knowing Uzuki Yugao well, Uchiha Natsu gave her a confident look and said, "Don't panic." Seeing Uchiha Natsu's composed state, Uzuki Yugao instantly felt at ease.
Hyuga Rena, hesitant, added, "Should we help you from the outside?"
"No, just stay hidden. It's best not to come out no matter what happens," Uchiha Natsu advised.
The door of the prison opened again, and the little guy in Hyuga Rena's hand spoke up, "Auntie, is this the Uncle Natsu you mentioned when you were talking in your sleep...."
Before the child could finish, Hyuga Rena swiftly covered his mouth. The people around had various expressions, and Hyuga Rena's skin changed to the color of red.
