"Ugh... You just had to pull the trigger, huh."
Taylor grumbled as the gate opened. The command centre was in a mess right now, and Taylor and Val had been ordered to retrieve Arnold's body.
"S-sorry."
Val seemed distraught as he apologized in a mumble. The heavy gates opened and the two of them stepped forward.
"Just in case, put your thermal goggles on."
An order came from the command centre, and the two soldiers quickly put on their thermal visions.
They half expected to be ambushed by enemies, yet the fields were empty.
"Did Arnold seriously come alone just to get shot?"
Taylor couldn't believe that, but he didn't have much choice in the matter.
Soon, they approached the corpse of Arnold Tilgen, laying on the pool of his own blood. Both of them became stunned as they saw the mechanical arm and leg connected to his body.
