Chapter 149: Arena Seventeen: A New Start VII

"W-well then, let's move on."

I said as I composed myself, looking forward. Roxy had turned out to be more dependable than I had thought.

We then started moving to the third floor. As we walked down the stairs, Roxy posed a question.

"Shouldn't we check the rooms on the second? I thought that was a standard protocol."

"We don't have to. We'll not be coming here anytime soon, so there's no need to secure the parameters... Unless we are moving through it, that is. "

I explained bluntly as I scanned the empty hallway. No phantoms to be seen.

"... Understood."

Roxy nodded and quieted down. With that settled, our group moved through the empty hallway to reach the next set of stairs on the other side.

Just as I had told her, Roxy started to check the rooms first before moving forward. So did the others, and soon enough, we found several phantoms loitering inside one of the apartments.
