"Come in." Shen Nian's stern face relaxed. He turned sideways and let Auntie in. Then, he stood at the door and looked left and right to make sure that there was no one else before closing the door again. "Auntie, sit down and talk."
"Okay." Lian Meng sat on the sofa uneasily.
She was the Aunt of this six-year-old child, but for some reason, she felt like she was negotiating with a big boss. She suddenly felt nervous.
After regaining her composure, Lian Meng gathered her wits. She smiled and held his hand, and encouraged him to sit beside her. "Nian Nian, listen to me. I don't know what happened between your parents tonight. Otherwise, I would never allow your mother to be out there, alone in the middle of the night. I would rather chase your father out than abandon your mother."
"I know." Shen Nian nodded.
