Evening
Seoul, South Korea
Airport
"That's the same thing I'm still saying, I can't find her anywhere around."
"Come on doctor, I know you're lying to me or maybe you haven't gotten to the airport yet."
Dong-Hyun frowned, "Really? You think am lying to you Jin? Alright then, why don't we place this call on video." Without waiting for her to say anything, he switched the call on video. Swirling it around, "Can you see for yourself?"
"Ahh, I'm sorry I called you a liar doctor, but just a minute, I'll call Chung-Cha to ask her where she is." Jin-joo squealed.
"There's no need to do that Jin-joo, I've already told you before, she hasn't arrived yet." Glancing at his watch, he groaned, "Now you're keeping me out of my usual duties. You know am a very busy man, do you?"
"So sorry doctor, but you need to pick up our friend first." She beamed.
"Our friend? Listen Jin, I think we better get this straight. Chung-Cha is your mutual friend and no longer mine, got it?"
Widening her eyes in shock, she snapped, "You gat to be kidding me doctor, I think you mistakenly hit your head somewhere. Better go fix it, its your problem."
"Jin–"
"Dong-Hyun!" A beautiful damsel squealed and pounce on him. Causing Dong-Hyun to almost lost his balance.
Startled by the sudden embrace, he frowned quizzically and place the call on hold. "Why did you pounce on me like that?"
Chung-Cha grinned like a donkey, revealing her little white set of teeth. With her legs still wrapped around his narrow waist and her hands hooked on his neck, she beamed, "Am so happy to see you after four years Dong-Hyun."
He raised his eyebrows and inquired, "Do I look like I care?"
Okay, for a second, Chung-Cha sensed the reflection of annoyance in his eyes and the cold verbals from his tone, but she didn't give a damn bout it. The main thing is that she's happy to see her missing rib after four fucking years.
"Come on Dong-Hyun, stop being a baby. I know you missed me but you're too shy to say it."
"Miss you? I ask again Chung-Cha, do I look like I care?" Taking a deep breath, he annoyingly instructed, "Get off me right now, right this minute."
She vigorously shook her head and pouted her lips like a little baby, "Nope."
"Chung-Cha please stop acting like a child, we ain't kids anymore, so stop this Disney thing you're displaying in front of me. Just get off my body."
"And I said no, not until you peck my cheeks as you usually do before." She demanded.
"You want me to–look, we are beyond that, okay? We are adults now and no longer teenagers or adolescents."
"But you–"
"But I what? We were just friends and nothing attached, got it? Now get your body out if mine before I toss you away." He snapped harshly.
Chung-Cha whom is as stubborn as arrogant, tightened her grasp around him and boldly retorted, "No am not getting off, am gonna remain like this not until you peck my chubby cheeks."
"Listen, I wasn't kidding when I said I'll toss you away, so better respect yourself and slide down now."
Leaning closer, she placed her forehead on his, "What if I refuse Mr Kim, what are you gonna do then? Fling me like–ahhh!" She gasped in shock when he pushed away. Causing her to hit her butts on the cold tiled floor.
At first, Dong-Hyun wasn't concerned about what he just did. In fact, he saw it as a normal thing especially to Chung-Cha whom abandoned him after all the friendship they shared. But it wasn't her fault, was it?
"Don–Dong, y–you pushed me?" She sounded like she was gonna tear up. When he ignored her and started packing up the luggages, she burst into tears. Causing everyone to pay attention towards them.
"What? Shut up, are you trying to make a scene at the airport?" When she increased the pitch of her cry, he left the luggages and squatted down to help her up, "Stop it, you've caused a big scene already, now everyone's looking at us." He whispered.
She could sense his low and calm tone being passionate a little. "Dong, but why did you push me? At first you weren't happy to see me and now you made me develop sore butt."
Running his hands through his face, he sighed. Oh goodness me, what type of woman is she? "Are you gonna get up or you just want me to leave instead."
"You want to leave after tossing me away." Sobbing harder, she slightly smack his chest, "How could you throw your bestie away."
Without saying anything, he slapped her hands off and stood up to pack the luggages. When Chung-Cha realized that there were no sign of him around, she stood up and dashed out of the terminal.
'Why did he change all of a sudden? He don't even look happy to see me. What's behind that sudden hatred of his? But come to think of it, he has become so handsome and beefy than those days when they where still teenagers.' Chung-Cha thought, as she walked out.
.....
Inside the car
Driving with one hand on the steering wheel, he placed his other elbow on the opened window. Constantly pinching his chin.
Chung-Cha tilted her head towards him, "Dong-Hyun, why are you upset with me?" When he did not say anything, she burst into tears, "Say something at least."
"Please stop this madness, stop it. I can't take it anymore, like seriously, you're getting on my nerves." He yelled.
"Am getting on your nerves Dong-Hyun," She wiped her eyes, "For a second, please explain to me why you suddenly changed."
When he kept quiet, she added, "The Dong-Hyun I use to know is not like this. In fact, he treats me like a queen and care for me like an egg."
"Thank goodness you're classifying yourself as an egg," He stated without looking at her.
"What do you mean by that?"
"Because you surely look like one." Turning the emergency brake handle, "I don't know but for some odd reasons, I can't state the reason why I'm super freaked out."
He sound like he was bothered or troubled. She has never seen him in such a bad mood of state, not once, not before.
Wiping her tears, she sniffed her nose and tried to compose herself. "I'm sorry, I didn't know your pain, but you can at least share it with me."
"You ain't my friend, so why should I share my problems with you?" Damn his statements were like two edge swords piercing into her heart.
Chung-Cha lowered her head in dejection. "I'll take that as a compliment,"
"You don't have to, its a real assuring word from my heart."
"If there is something I was wanted to ask about your weird behaviors, I'd better ask Jin-joo. She'll give me the whole details I need to know." She sighed.
"Are you trying to do handout research about me?" He frowned and hastily parked the car. Grabbing her by the arms, he pulled her closer and gritted his teeths, "Now you listen to me Chung-Cha Jong, you better back off from my problems. I don't want to hurt you."
Locking her eyes in his, she feared for her life, he has never held her this tight before and now her arms are turning slight red. What is he doing? Is he trying to cast his hatred on her or vent more anger on her? Today is the first day they met after four years of mysterious separation and he's treating her like a total stranger.
"Dong, what has come over you?" Sneakily caressing his face with her thumbs, she knew he wasn't like this before, there's something behind his bad mood. But if there was, then why didn't Jin-joo told her about it?
Gazing into his jet black eyes, all she could see was pain and a reflection of her. "Its me bestie, Chung-Cha Jong, your only blanket whom keeps you warm from the cold. Do you remember?"
"Of course I do remember you, Miss Jong." Jerking her hands away, he narrowed his eyes, "I'd remember you, the same woman I spent 180 degree of my childhood with and ended up abandoning me out of the blue. But do I look like I care?"
"Dong–" She stopped when he instructed her with a gesture finger.
"It'll be better if you stop addressing me by my name, we aren't in the same age, am older than you with some couple of years so respect that. Even my sister addresses me as doctor, so you know what to call me. Don't let me repeat myself again."
Ignoring her shocking expression, he turned on the car and zoomed off.
