Chapter 48: Take my blood instead

Clutching her hands on her hair, Petra sobbed harder, "I told him not to embark on the way but he didn't listen."

"Aunt, please stop crying." Calvin consoled.

Sitting on the couch, she covered her mouth and tried to catch a breath. Sitting beside her, Nelly placed her head on her shoulder and wept bitterly.

"Where is he?" Looking at the others, Jin-joo panickly inquired, "Where is aunt Petra's son, where is he?" When they did not say anything, she snapped, "Is somebody deaf, numb or dumb? At least say something?"

When they gave her a downcasted and wanly glare, she made her way towards the emergency door and peeped through.

Widening her eyes and mouth in shock when she saw doctors and nurses operating in him.

Tears rolled down her cheeks like waterfall. Looking at the others, she slowly made her way towards Petra, "How did this happen?"

When she didn't alter a single word but shed tears, Jin-joo took a deep breath and made her way towards the door.

Jin-joo felt sympathy on him despite the mysterious misunderstanding they had few days ago. She's human, she could bleed and breath, if she thought of the day they argued and decide not to show up, aunt Petra would feel bad and call her heartless.

She had to forsake every other thing she was doing in the mansion and rush down to the hospital for her son's sake.

Few minutes later, the doctor walked out of the emergency room, "Excuse me ma'am, sorry to say but your son suffered too much injuries which made him lose a lot of blood." Pausing for a while, he added, "As am speaking, your son has only five percent remaining."'

"What do you mean by five percent doctor?" Bursting into tears, Petra remarked, "He is innocent, such a harmless soul, why should he have five percent of time remaining?"

"Ma'am, am not talking about his life span. His blood rate is very low and if–"

Cutting him off, Jin-joo stated, "Take my blood instead." Ignoring the circulated silence, she volubly volunteer, "Please don't say anything just take my blood. A bucket, a drum, a jug, a jar, a tank, I don't care to know but just do it."

"Jin–"

"Aunt Petra please don't say a word, if this is what needs to be done to save your son's life then let me do it." Looking at the doctor, she snapped, "Stop staring at me and take me to the lab."

The doctor nodded and guided her towards the laboratory.

Looking at Ryan, Donald gasped, "Is she really doing this?"

"I'm still shocked man."

Petra whom had stopped crying long ago, slumped on the couch and paused for a long time. "Why is Jin risking herself for my son's sake? Why is she doing this?"

"Like seriously, even I, don't have a single clue about her intentions." Calvin gasped.

"I don't think there are any bad intentions behind this." Scrunching his brows, Ryan added, "She's doing it for Aunty's sake and not for him." Looking at Nelly, he inquired, "You do remember that last time they argued?"

When she nodded, he added, "Then why is she helping him?"

"Like I really know?" Helplessly shaking her head, Nelly sighed and shrugged her shoulders, "She's kindhearted I guess."

.....

An hour later,

"You're permitted to see him before the others because of your generosity."

Giving him a slight smile, Jin-joo nodded, "Thank you doctor, should I go in right now?"

"Of course, why not, you can see him. He is awake."

Without saying anything, she made her way into his ward.
