"Well, I've been studying your characters and attitudes these days especially when we have a conversation." He stated flat.
Pretending to not be guilty, she faked a smile, "Come on dad, am still the good girl you've taught me to be."
Jumping into the conversation, Bong-Cha added, "Let's us have our meal in peace, my daughter is not an arrogant woman," Looking at Jin-joo, "Right honey?"
"Of course mom," She smiled.
"Alright then, if that be the case." He took a sip from the juice, "You'll be meeting with my old time friend's son Yusheng Lin."
"Wait what?!" She started coughing vigorously.
Chung-Cha wanted to hand her the tissue and a glass of water but her hand couldn't reach for it. She's seven months pregnant and very due.
Before Dong-Hyun could help her out, Bong-Cha had already given her a glass of water. "Drink up my dear."
Lee crossed his arms on the table. He knew what his daughter is busy playing at. Of course she heard him loud and clear and that sent shock strings down her chest. Causing her to almost choke on the food.
Looking at her husband, "Why bringing such suffocating topic into breakfast?" Bong-Cha scolded him.
"Suffocating topic?" He chuckled. "Don't act like you don't know Yusheng."
"Of course I do and his mother is my very good friend too." She snapped. Bong-Cha is a very harsh and hard woman. That's where Jin-joo got her peremptory side from.
"Dad, Yusheng has been my close friend from highschool but things have changed now." Dong-Hyun added.
"I heard he was once engaged and broke up with his fiancee for some odd reasons." Chung-Cha valiantly remarked.
"Yes," Lee nodded in agreement. "This went a little bit awkward between those two but–anyway let's forget about that. Jin-joo, he will be back from Japan this evening, so I pick up tomorrow night as a dinner date for the both of you."
"What?!" Dong-Hyun and Jin-joo were both stunned.
Scrunching his brows at the two, he inquired, "What is what?"
Jin-joo brittle, almost breaking into tears. She looked at her mother for help. 'Momma, please help me out.'
As if she could read her minds, Bong-Cha gave her a nod and turned towards her husband. "My love, let's not pick up an argument now. This is not what our daughter wants."
"Can you hear yourself speaking, BC?" That's what he mostly calls her as an abbreviation of her name. "All I want is for my daughter to be happy that's all."
"But dad, the only way I can be happy is my life with Sebastian." She broke in tears.
There she goes again, he's fucking pissed by the sound of that name. "How many times did I ask you never to mention that animal's name in my presence?"
"Dad, Sebastian is not an animal he is...he is my life, my everything."
"Spare me that crap!" He slammed the table. "You women are sometimes always stupid about this thing you call love. Tell me what did that coward gave to you? Did he cast something on you that makes you grow wild like an idiot?"
"Dad–"
Cutting Dong-Hyun off, he yelled angrily, "You shut up, not one word from you. Like seriously? My goodness, you guys have no idea who they are."
"Who are they, Lee?" Bong-Cha was running out of patience, "Who are they? Aren't they humans as us?"
"Of course they are, my darling. But too bad they're just bunch of cowards in human creation." He scoffed.
Jin-joo cried even more. She can't withstand her father addressing the Flynns with weird names. And Sebastian? That's her ride or die and she's ready to do anything for him irrespective of who the invader might be.
Patting her back, Bong-Cha encouraged her to calm down, "Take a deep breath my dear, you know how crazy your father can be. Don't listen to him, brush those negative thoughts out of your head as I always tell you."
She nodded and started taking several deep breaths, meanwhile lee sat there rooted with a strange expression on his face.
Chung-Cha felt pity for her, she wished she could help her out of the situation. She has suffered a lot these months.
"Cheer up and wipe your tears, for you have no idea the good am doing today."
"What good do you think you're doing, Lee? You're forcing our daughter into a relationship she doesn't want to be."
