CHAPTER 10- His Name
"it's... i-it's not what you think! I just like the bed because it's so soft. yes! that's it" he told me as if convincing himself more than me.
I stared at him thinking of what should I say and whether to agree or not. But he's harmless right?
"I..."
"if you want we can put pillow between us so you won't feel uncomfortable"
"o-okay. just... j-just don't get any closer to me and yes let's put a pillow between us" I say to him stammering. My heart is beating fast again maybe I should have a consultation with my Dad. Surely he knows the reason why since he is a doctor.
"thank you so much, promise I won't dare to do anything and besides I'm a ghost so rest assured nothing's gonna happen" then he slightly bowed at me.
wait what?! he won't dare to do anything because he's a ghost so if he's not a ghost he would dare.
"okay this conversation is over" I said to him looking away. I just can't look at him in the eyes, not when my heart is still beating fast and my cheeks blushing.
That's how our conversation ended two weeks ago. After agreeing that he can stay with me I almost forgot that he is a ghost. He still do things that living people are doing. He usually seats in the living room watching TV, he even knocks or ask before going inside the bathroom, he also behaves himself when we're laying down not passing the pillow boundary between us and I'm also getting use to his presence, sometimes he watched me cooking or helps me vacuum the floor, we both gave the cat a name we named it Alex.
I just remember that I still didn't ask how should I address him. Maybe I'll ask him later.
It's Sunday today and also my day off. I'm just staying at my apartment and working on my manga he is also with me.
"you draw well. Is that a story?" he asked me looking at what I'm doing. My eyes widen when he suddenly lean. He is so close to me I can feel the coldness.
"Thank you and yes. I draw manga whenever I got time." I look away from him not minding that he's so close to me.
"Can I read? If you don't mind."
"sure I won't mind I even posted this online so don't worry hundreds of people might already read this" I told him confidently.
"I know" he said smiling to me.
"you know?" I look at him confused.
"of course. who wouldn't read a work as beautiful as you" he said then flick my forehead. I gave him a glare but he just smiled mockingly at me.
"I'm thirsty. I'll leave my personal laptop on you. You can read it there." I turned away as my lips form a smile.
when I went back to my room he is now in the bed lying on his stomach using my personal laptop, reading my works.
He looked so serious making me conscious of my work. I continued what I'm doing. After an hour he close my laptop and seat beside me.
"how was it? " I ask him I don't know why seeing his expression a while ago makes me want to hear his opinion.
"it's really good" he smiled at me "so Kalis a first year college student which is the female lead in your story reincarnated as an empress right?"
"yeah"
"is that the next chapter you're making?" he said while leaning, he's so close again.
"Nope this is another story"
Then it suddenly grew silent between us. Minutes passed before I broke the silence.
"you said you don't know your name. What should I call you?"
"let me think..." I just stare at him as his forehead wrinkled a bit. He must be in a deep thought.
After a couple of minutes in deep thought I didn't expect the name he choose.
"Can I use the name Calix?"
"Calix? Same with this new story I'm making? "
"yeah if you don't mind"
"okay. But why this name?"
"It sounds good"
After that it was decided that his name will be Calix, since he don't know what his name is.
I wonder what's his real name.
