The sounds of the voice died down and Finn started feeling his body again. 'Nope. This is definitely not my body.'
Feeling the structure of 'his' body and the stance he was in, Finn recalled hearing something relating to inhabiting.
He decided that he should first concentrate on his senses before anything else.
Opening his eyes, from a view close to the ground, Finn could see that he was in some sort of forest.
The towering trees had wide trunks, their branches and leaves above formed a canopy that blocked much light from penetrating.
What made this place less dark was the luminescent blue and purple grasses that were hidden amongst the usual green grass.
Some flying insects also had similar traits to the surreal grass, leaving traces of their respective color as they glided through the air.
'Whoa…' Finn, who was positioned in the shades of one of the towering trees, marveled inwardly at the sight.
With the supernatural voice he heard and the supernatural setting he saw, Finn came to a conclusion.
'I… I'm in another world… I was given a second life! Did God really hear me?' Finn pondered, but with no basis to judge, he moved on. 'There's no point thinking about that now. I'll find out about that when I understand my current situation.
'For now, I'll just enjoy this life like I said I would!'
Putting that aside, Finn tried moving his head to inspect his odd-feeling body and he noticed something.
Right in front of him, an illusory screen was there, only when he paid attention did he notice it existed. The screen displayed:
Name: -
Race: Great Phantom
⤷ Status: Battle to inhabit a White Fenrir
Rune Gift: -
Inherent Skills: [Possession], [Spectral Healing]
Secondary Skills: [Echo of God(Dormant)]
'Eh? I'm now a Phantom?' Finn concentrated and thought further, 'What is exactly is a Great Phantom though. How did I even become one? I'm human!'
In response two new screens appeared. One seemed to explain his previous race before his evolution and his current race.
[Ghost: At your point of death, your abnormal desires to stay on the Material Planes stopped you from entering the path of rebirth. You are a soul who should have died but still rejected death. You are an undead.]
And the second screen.
[Great Phantom: You are a Ghost born from strong desire, you traveled through space and time causing you to become a Ghost that lost important constraints; You gained full-self awareness and broke your anchors.
This led to your evolution of becoming a Great Phantom.
Because of your unique abnormality, you inherent skill, [Release] has been stripped off. For this reason, after possessing a material body, you won't be able to release that body on your own.
This has caused you to be dependent on material bodies to a certain extent ,which is why you're still considered a demi-spiritual lifeform.
You are a unique creature.]
After understanding this, Finn added, 'So basically, I'm a strong ghost, but I'm not as strong as I'm supposed to be because I lack an inherent skill...'
Mentally scratching his head, Finn shrugged, 'Well, I can't be sad about losing something I never really had.'
Knowing the status brought out descriptions when one concentrated on it, Finn began doing the same for other parts of the status he didn't fully get.
'Battle… Fenrir… Wait–I'm not alone in this body? Is that why I can't fully move yet? Ah… Sorry, Mr Fenrir, but I'll be using your body from now on, if not, I might actually die.'
Telling himself he had a reason to suddenly take over its body, he tried to feel the other presence that was still within the body and he successfully did.
After understanding the shape of the body and locating the presence of another spirit body, Finn felt like his spirit body and the spirit body of the Fenrir were struggling to enter the same door, but they were both stuck at the entrance.
His spirit body took the shape of a humanoid with a darkish-blue ethereal color, while the Fenrir was a small wolf with a white ethereal color that had a red aura swirling within its almost see-through body.
Maybe because he was originally a Ghost or maybe it was because his Spirit-body had been enhanced, Finn realized he had more control compared to the Fenrir. He could increase the size of his body to a certain extent.
He could tell, purging the Fenrir was going to be easy, but he didn't… because he could tell something else.
Within this body, anger, hatred and the desire for revenge were emanating from the Fenrir's spirit body. These were its true feelings that resided deep within its astral body or maybe even deeper, the soul.
Like it did, Finn tried emanating his feelings towards Fenrir through his spirit body to act as a sort of communication.
The plane where they had been struggling for control over the body morphed, taking a worldly view. It transformed to a grassy field with Finn and the White Fenrir standing opposite each other, looking at themselves in their spiritual form.
The wolf-shaped creature growled, revealing its teeth, with eyes that questioned what Finn's existence was.
It attacked, but Finn, whose body felt like a lighter human body, easily dodged it.
The Fenrir released a howl that sent shivers through his spirit body and made his senses wobbly.
Finding no other possible decision to make in this his unbalanced state and fearing this creature might actually be able to hurt him, Finn decided.
Since he was a Ghost, he'd act like one.
He increased the size of his spirit body, almost reaching the skies of this metaphysical land, his body obstructing the 'light' and making this place feel gloomier.
From up, he glared down at the now shivering Fenrir and pointed at it with one of his fingers. In the language that he knew, he said with a cracking ethereal voice, "Know your place, young pup."
The Fenrir squirmed heavily as though it could enter the ground at any moment.
Satisfied, Finn reduced his size back to that of a human's and smiled at the Fenrir.
Finn then transmitted, 'I can tell you're weak and injured, let me carry on for you. If I cross parts with those that injured you and killed your pack, I'll make sure they regret it. I promise.'
The Fenrir felt the genuine concern Finn carried and nodded slightly. At this point, its spirit body had already weakened - this was why Finn automatically entered its body - and it believed it would die before it could grow strong enough to carry out its revenge.
Therefore, it decided to leave its revenge to this entity before him, then set off for a part of rebirth hoping to meet his loved ones on this path.
Before Finn could think of what'll happen next, he saw the Fenrir float into the vague and blurry sky of this metaphysical world where it ended up vanishing.
Standing as a darkish-blue human shaped ghost, Finn fell to the floor, satisfied at successfully gaining control of this body.
Shortly after pondering on what to do next, Finn recalled his [Possession] skill and tried using it.
He could feel the presence of an orb-shaped container within his spirit-body and deeper into another body that he recognized to be his astral body.
Aside from a swirling energy within the container, he felt a more complex presence, but he put that aside since the complex presence seemed to evade his senses. Other than those, he felt another imprint - 3 to be precise - within this container and he recognized one to have an essence and meaning similar to possession.
Using the swirling energy within the container to evoke this imprint, Finn felt his spiritual body turn to a gassy state that enveloped and merged with this metaphysical world that represented the White Fenrir's body.
[You have possessed a White Fenrir.] Finn heard in his head.
Finally, Finn felt the control he had over his new unfamiliar body.
'Yes! I can move!' He jubilated inwardly. 'Still feels weird... I'm a wolf-like creature now.'
Based on the shape of the Fenrir's spirit body and the color of the fur he could see, Finn could imagine his look.
He was a wolf with a length of 4-feet, his white smooth fur had streaks of blue decorating it and his paws adorned with long, sharp, bluey-white claws. Oddly enough, he had a tail of around 15 inches, waggling to display his happiness.
'Alright! Before I leave the shadows and explore, let's go through the rest of the status.'
