Chapter 25: Drinking Contest!

"What!?" The fat man's head tilted backward in bewilderment. Out of anything in the world, he didn't expect a kid like this to challenge him to a drinking competition.

By now, everyone in the bar was paying attention to the conversation between Sol and the bartender. They were highly amused by it.

After Sol's proposition, more dramatic "Oooo"s filled the room. Out of nowhere, a man even began to shout.

"Drinking contest! Drinking contest!" As he banged his feet on the ground. After a few seconds, his entire table began to copy him, and then a good part of the bar followed suit.

The bartender looked around, and then faced Sol once again, "Fine! You're on, but you have no idea what's coming to you. I have this belly for a reason. I'm the city-wide drinking champion!"

The old man poked out his belly with pride.

Sol's smirk turned into a grin, 'Perfect... he fell for my trap. Now, I'll be able to drink to my heart's content once again after so many years! How long has it been since alcohol has had no effect on me? 150? 200!?'

In the Origin Realm, Atlas was known as the Drunk Magus along with his many other titles.

At one point he traveled to every continent, challenging each emperor to a drinking contest in front of the empire's people.

He would utterly humiliate the emperor each time, fulfilling his true motive of testing to see which sake was the greatest on the planet.

These battles lasted for days on end, and sometimes, even weeks!

However, after cultivating in the entire Million Years Nine-Colored Poison, Sol lost the ability to feel any of the effects of alcohol. It was one of, if not the biggest regret(s) in his life.

But finally, after many decades, he would experience that almighty bliss once again.

'I've defeated men alike to gods in this game before. This fatty is nothing.' Sol confidently proclaimed as he and the bartender prepared to begin the contest.

After a minute or so of getting ready, Sol faced the bartender, sitting opposite to him on a round table in the direct center of the bar.

With everyone in the pub standing up and surrounding this table, cheering for who they thought would win, two large pints of beer were slammed onto the table.

The bartender grunted slightly with a smile on his face, and Sol replied with a piercing gaze of his own.

"And... begin!"

The two immediately grabbed their pints and began to chug.

They chugged their first one... second... third... tenth... twentieth. Before long, they were piss drunk and out of their minds.

"Screw this! Bring out the good stuff! The sake, damn it!" Sol exclaimed at that moment, barely able to speak because he was so drunk.

"The sake!? There are four barrels, which one do you want me to bring!?" A man in the back shouted.

"What kind of question is that?" The bartender exclaimed, just as drunk as Sol, "Bring every single one!" He yelled.

"Hahaha! You are my type of guy, plumpy!" Sol laughed as he and the bartender raised their last pints of beer.

"Let's drink this place dry!" Sol exclaimed as barrels of sake were rolled out next to their table.

Several minutes passed, which soon turned into hours. The crowd didn't stop cheering as Sol and the bartender continued to chug down the liquor.

"Let's go, big man! Don't lose your title!"

"Cmon' kid! Steal that crown from off of his head! Don't falter now!"

Before they knew it, the night had escaped them, and the morning sun was glistening through the windows.

Only a few of the cheerleaders from the night prior were still awake and standing near the contest table.

Most of the bar was out cold, sleeping on the random tables and chairs, and even the floor.

Sol and the bartender were still going at it. Their eyes looked as if they were on cloud 9, and their faces were red as tomatoes.

*Buuurp*

The bartender caressed his stomach, leaning back in his chair, "Boy... no matter who wins this, I will admit that you are truly a man."

Sol smiled, his eyes attempting to close, "Heh... that's right. And you are one as well, my dear plumpy..."

'Although I am the god of drinking, this new body of mine is quite pathetic when it comes down to such an ancient art...' Sol thought to himself, as both he and the bartender raised another pint of sake into the air.

"What do you say? Is this it?" The bartender said, knowing that there were 15 empty barrels of liquor rolling around on the ground beside them.

"We will call it a truce," Sol said, raising his final glass.

As those left awake cheered for Sol and the bartender, the rest of the bar slowly awakened.

"Ohh! It's finally here!"

"Everyone get up! This is it, the grand finale! The one left standing will win it all!"

As tired and hungover eyes graced the two seemingly ethereal beings sitting in the middle of the bar, they both tapped their pints together before chugging the sake down with fast gulps.

Both of their pints landed on the table at the same time, and just like that, Sol's head slowly fell closer and closer to the table.

"Ohhhh~" The entire room dramatically exclaimed.

Just as Sol's forehead came mere inches from touching the table, the bartender's head slammed down onto it.

A hush fell over the bar, making even a fly's buzzing seem loud.

No one knew who had won. Was it a tie? They didn't know what to do, or who to cheer for.

Just then, Sol's head quickly rose back up before bouncing around like a bobblehead.

"Just kidding~~" He smirked, as an abrupt roar of cheer erupted inside the bar.
