Chapter 60: Death

Silence and shock washed over the atmosphere.

From a simple cold glare, Sol could tell that these young men had never seen the horrors of taking another man's life.

They didn't understand how it felt to even see such a thing, let alone do it yourself--or worse, have it happen to you.

One of the cadets couldn't stop shaking uncontrollably. His body became too distressed to maintain regular motor function.

His breathing became ragged and his mind filled with negative thoughts, yet he forced his eyes to stay wide open.

He tried to hide his fear by clenching the hilt of his katana, but that only made things worse as the rattle of the blade signaled his fear to everyone.

"You men pointed your blades with the intent to take my life, yet were never truly prepared to do so... I can see that from your reactions."

Sol nonchalantly remarked, slashing his blade in the air to rid it of all blood.
