Chapter 18: The signs are there

I can hear the boys stirring in the other room as the day begins. It’s Saturday, but my thoughts are centered on the events of the night before. After talking to Alex last night, I went back to my room, feeling even more conflicted. My wings kept stirring restlessly, and my eyes wouldn’t stop glowing. It’s as if my body didn’t want to deny its claim to Nevaeh. I tried to relax, but my body wouldn’t let me. Even the thought of rejecting Nevaeh makes my mouth burn with acid. After a few restless hours, I realize that sleep is not an option. Seeing no other recourse, I unfurl my wings and let them flutter around me. Eventually, my wings tired, and the glow faded away. However, it worried me that I couldn’t control them.
