Going back to Oscar's house felt strange. I didn't know what to expect. He was easily jealous and possessive, and I did not know what I would do to piss him off again.

The staff were surprised to see me return that night, but instead of letting me go to the room allocated to me on the worker's floor, he allocated a room to me on the same floor his room was on. It surprised the workers because other than him, no one lived on that floor. There were just three rooms there. The master bedroom, which was his, his home office, and the extra room that I would be occupying henceforth.

Oscar looked a mess when he showed up at the shelter, and I didn't bother to ask him why he had bloody knuckles. I felt he would tell me if it were my business, but since it had nothing to do with me, he made no reference to it, and I did not bother to ask.
