It had been two weeks since Karen left. I had thought she would come running back to me but that didn't happen. She had disappeared. I checked her old apartment and her landlord has said she moved out on the same day she left my house. Could she have skipped town? If she had been caught by the vampires or witches I would have heard. Where could she have gone to?

Maybe she had called Joey and gone to him. Just thinking of it made me mad. I hoped he wasn't hiding her in one of his father's guesthouses and having his way with her. If I found out that was what happened I knew I would kill him.

I was a fool to allow her to leave. Why couldn't I just say that I was sorry? Why did I allow my need for physical pleasure to cloud my judgement that night at the club?
