**I don't want to deal with them...I don't want to deal with them...I FUCKING DO NOT WANNA DEAL WITH THESE THREE RIGHT NOW UUUUUGH, here we go...** Was the only thought going through my mind when the three princes stood before me.
Prince Arthur bowed polity along with Prince Leon, while Prince Samuel's grin widened and beamed like a little kid.
"Your Highness, it is such an honor to see you again. I have not been able to be in your presence since we were in our youth," said Prince Arthur.
"However, next time His Highness and Her Majesty throw such an event for you, it would be best for you to attend." Prince Leon lectured, adjusting his glasses in the process.
Prince Samuel rolled his eyes and smacked Prince Leon's back, making him jump.
"Dude, come on! Let him be~; I'd even ditch a place with an atmosphere that dense." Prince Samuel laughed and gave me a friendly wink, "right, bro?"
The other princes sighed in irritation and started lecturing Prince Samuel on how 'Prince Darien is the Empire's next-in-line, so he shouldn't address me so casually' and shit like that...
**Ugh...** I look over at the Academy doors, then at these three, then to the forest to my right, then back to these three... **How do I escape this nightmare and get some peace?!**
"Um...excuse me?" A small voice said from behind the three bickering toddlers who couldn't shut up about me, "I don't mean to sound rude, for that is not my intention, but...may I pass? I'd like to arrive at class on time..."
The princes stopped arguing, and we all turned to see who was speaking.
**Shit...Aaaaaaaaaagh, why her?!** I yelled in my head as alarms went off.
Standing behind us, all fidgety with fear and discomfort, was the protagonist:
Alanna Gleen...
She was an advantage height, though relatively short. Thin and slim. Light but not pale skin. She had medium-longish light brown hair that was straight with soft waves. Her mouth was in a slight frown as if she was scared, and her big blue eyes were watery like she was about to cry...though...something to me didn't seem right about those eyes...
"Ah, I-I'm sorry!" She bowed. "Allow me to show my deepest apologies! Prince Arthur, Prince Leon, And Prince Samuel! I...I did not know it was you! Forgive me for speaking so carelessly!"
Prince Arthur smiled kindly and shook his head slowly.
"It is quite alright, miss. Our backs were turned, and we were blocking your path." He said, smiling warmly.
"Indeed." Prince Leon said with a short bow, "It is us who are in the wrong. To make up for it, may we ask your name?"
The protagonist's eyes gleamed a bit, in a way I knew all too well, and she smiled happily at us while bowing in respect.
"My name is Alanna Gleen. I live in a small village outside the south walls of the Eros Kingdom. It's a pleasure to make your acquaintance, My Lords. Oh! My goodness!"
Alanna's point of view looked over the shoulders of the three in front of her to me, who wasn't looking at her and instead was looking off into the distance.
"Your Highness! Forgive me! I did not see you! My apologies! If I had known, surely I would have-"
"You would have what?" I interrupted her coldly, "You would have addressed me before them? Yeah, no. You wouldn't have."
Everyone around me froze, and Alanna started to pale, but there was that sparkle in her eyes again...the sparkle that pissed me off to my core:
The gleam a snake gets in their eyes when they're trying to capture its prey.
**I fucking hate that gleam. My cousin would get that look in her eyes every fucking time she talked to me in front of my old family. Girls who talked to me back in my past life would get that too when they wanted to "hang out" or "talk" with me...Ugh! It...it...**
"Dude?" Prince Samuel asked, but his voice never reached my ears.
My eyes started to glow, and my fists clenched.
**IT FUCKING PISSES ME OFF TO HIGH HEAVEN AND THE BLACK ABYSS**
"PRINCE DARIEN! CONTROL YOURSELF! SHE DID NOT MEAN TO UPSET YOU!"
That's when I heard a snap in my head, and when I turned to find out who yelled at me, it was Prince Arthur...standing in front of Alanna with Prince Leon at his side with his sword out.
I stared at them in shock.
**Are they serious?**
I looked over at Prince Samuel, who had a hand on my shoulder, deeply concerned for my state.
**Prince Samuel seems more concerned for me than they do...wait...ha...haha...hahaha...**
I started to laugh out loud, making Prince Samuel cock his head confused; however, Prince Loen and Arthur? They took a more defensive stance.
"Hey...Imma ask you three something, and I mean you, Prince Arthur, Prince Leon..." I looked and Prince Samuel, "and you, Samuel."
'Prince' Samuel's eyes and mouth shot open while he stayed silent, but his tail whipped around, all excited.
I smirked and turned my attention back to the other two, who looked hurt and pale by my choice of words.
"And when I ask you, none will speak unless they are spoken to. Got it? Samuel, What Empire are you loyal to?"
Samuel grinned and slapped my shoulder.
"No one other than my best friend's: His Royal Highness's Empire. The Withergate Empire. And I will only be loyal to my father's kingdom and the Wighergate Empire's Legacy. For as long as you'll allow it, Your Highness."
"Call me 'Darien' Samuel. I permit you to; after all, I have known you for as long as I can remember."
His tail started to whip even faster.
"As for you two." I said coldly, "the both of YOU do NOT have that permission, and until you regain my trust? I don't even want to hear my name leave your fucking throats."
