'Huh, this Law of Presence shit is pretty similar to Haki, Conqueror's Haki to be exact,' Orion mused after getting a proper explanation from Merlin about Law and the particular Law which he will be learning.
This also put his force training on halt as Merlin is again very apparent in learning one thing at a time. He will only resume his Force training again when he has a basic grasp of the Law Of Presence to the point that he can scare away those pests (Students).
He had thoughts about calling it Haki just like how he did it with Force but Merlin won't have it.
[Well yes they are very similar but I will advise you, not to mistake both of them for the same. You will hinder your learning otherwise.]
"Okay Okay. But now I am curious, are there any Laws about Observation and Armament ?" Orion couldn't help but ask, he was a huge fan of 'One Piece' back then, and of course, he wanted to know whether he could have Haki. I mean who wouldn't right?
Merlin just snorted at this, [Why you are looking for such Barbaric powers anyway? And no, there is no Law of Observation or Armament. But if you are looking to replicate those Haki powers then the Law of Presence can cover both Observation and the Conqueror's role, as it just doesn't improve your own presence but makes you aware of others as well. And when it comes to Armament Haki, you don't need one, just learn Force and you are covered more or less.]
"Uh okay, but hey what are you calling Barbaric? Haki is awesome and there is hardly any power system better than Haki. Easy and straightforward but at the same time powerful," Orion resorted back. It's just not the sound of his name why he always adds D in his name you know. He is a One Piece fan, through and through.
[Don't, that is just a barbaric and lazy way to implement a power system. If you are looking for a good power system implementation then stop watching that silly Pirate cartoon. You have better Anime in your head. For example Naruto. In my belief, Kishimoto nailed it with not only the power system but also the story and character development.]
"Oh please, you have no idea what kind of storytelling One Piece represents. One Piece is the highest form of Storytelling you will find in modern media. And don't even start about character development or other shit. One piece has more characters and their back story than the entire Naruto and its fillers combined," Orion restored back, not backing down.
[Ah, I see you are one of those.] Merlin just sighed like totally disappointed.
"One of who ?" Orion blink.
[Those who don't understand art. You might see Naruto as just an anime but for those who really understand, Naruto is much more than that, Naruto is a Feeling. A driving force. You my foolish friend will not understand.] Merlin signed and shook his head.
This formed a tick mark on Orion's face, " Fuck Feelings, Fuck Art. One Piece got a ton of that, but there one thing which One Piece have which that damned Ninja world will never have," Shouted Orion.
[What ?] Merlin asked challenging to see it.
"All Mighty OPPAI SAMA" Orion shouted.
"...."
More Bickering.
"...."
More Bickering.
"...."
More Bickering.
(A/N : Don't get offended, I like both One Piece and Naruto. This is just for fun as I too face this when I am talking with other people who have more preference for one of the two anime.
Although you can tell which one I like more by just reading my other content. The reason for not writing a One Piece fic is because I haven't completed it. I really want to write an OP fic sooner or later.)
----
After having the debate of the century about which fictional world is better, Orion finally went to sleep.
Even in sleep, he was dreaming about learning Haki and fighting Kaido. One minute, that's not Kaido. That Madara. Not that's not it, it's Kaidara.
"What the FUCK..."
----
Early morning Orion woke up with groggily eyes, all thanks to the dream where he was devastating the Marine forth with Beerus and Saitama. He can't even remember what kind of shit happen anymore.
He hastily got up and after doing his morning rituals he rushed to the Room Of Requirement. His immediate goal was to learn the Law Of Presence aka magical version of Conquerors and Observation Haki. At least to the point that he can scare away those nasty students from him, when necessary.
----
-Library-
Law was harder to grasp than he thought but he was making progress in it. At this rate, he was sure that he would learn the most basic usage in just under a week. An astronomical feat if Merlin had anything to say but he kept his mouth shut. The only thing he wanted now was to boast Orion's already inflated Ego more. He might be an absolute Monster when learning but it's only better that this monster is unaware of his own capabilities until he grows up a little more.
Today was Sunday, and Orion finally decided that he would dedicate today to learning more about Vampires. He still remembers that Vampire incident. It's just mind-boggling for him how that happened almost a month ago and he didn't get any time to do his own research on those fuckers.
Maybe he has gotten used to it but only in time like this does he realise that even this year, he doesn't have any extra time on his hands.
'Sign,' sad life.
When he arrived at the Library he found a premium member of the Library sitting there. Orion saw the bushy-haired girl sitting and buried under books and recalled that he had to do some digging on her. Well not her but the boy she was nowadays interacting with.
This girl was none other than Hermione and that boy was Nick. In all this nonsense about his book, the upcoming interview, joining the Quidditch team, his brooms and the recent letter he got from Emeric, learning Force, Law and all its bullshit and lastly normal teenage and students things, he almost forgot that he has to play Among Us with that Nick to find what category of imposter is he.
"Yo, how are you doing," Orion asked with a small smile. Hermione just looked up and smiled and then immediately went back to her book. Seems like she was more interested in the book than talking.
'Ah uh girl, when I say Hi, you are not supposed to reply like that,' Orion eyes twitch and he again says Hi.
But this time around, his Hi was said after he removed his charm-covering spell.
Hermione who again heard Orion calling for him, looked up again a little annoyed, although she knew that she should reply to the greeting but the book was just so interesting. So she was quickly about to say 'Hello and Good Morning,' and went back to her book but that never happened.
'Her interest in the book quickly transformed from the pages to Orion's face. She couldn't help but blush after seeing Orion's suddenly handsome face. Actually she just now didn't notice how handsome Orion was. It's strange as she is always around him and only a few times she found herself attracted to him to this degree.
This is because Hermione can't figure out the presence of Orion's charm well. It's not like Lure of the Veela's. Detecting it is much like detecting Lockhart's magic perfume, hard. Especially for the opposite gender like Hermione.
"Hi," she muttered with hesitation.
"Morning Hermione,"
"Morning Orion,".
Orion just released his concealing spell for a few seconds to get her attention, and he again put it back. He also realized that he didn't have to as he could use Devil's Tongue. But after remembering what happened with Rose last time, he just went with his natural charms.
"What are you reading," Orion asked, showing fake curiosity. Best way to have a conversation.
"It's about hmm... " Hermione said and hesitated a little. Orion found this suspicious. Usually, Hermione is all about sharing knowledge and flaunting what she learns. What happened today?
"Don't worry, you can tell me. I won't tell this to anyone," Orion said with devil's tongue active.
"uh hmm, you promise," Hermione immediately felt compelled to answer Orion but there was a little hesitation anyway so she asked.
"I swear," Orion said with much sweet smile.
Hermione finally got influenced by the devil's tongue and after looking whether someone was watching her, she got a little closer to Orion and said.
"I'm learning about Occulumency," Hermione said and this stunned Orion.
'One minute, what!
You are just in 2nd-year girl, let alone learning how do you even know about this,' Orion wanted to ask but he had to show that he didn't know about what Occulumency is and thus just showed a confused face.
"What is that ?"
xxx
Okay, choose your side, write Naruto Or One Piece. A war is imminent now.
Haha
I like both and thus I just wanted to do that where both Orion and Merlin like either of one and bickering. It's always fun.
Andway, what with Hermione dude, this shit is not going canon.

Now Orion finds himself in a dilemma, why suddenly Hermione know about Occulemency, is this something related to Nick?
Nor in the books or in the movies was the concept of Occulumency mentioned this early in the plot, and considering just how big of a book nerd Hermione was and even she didn't know about this excellent method to retain and arrange knowledge, it safe to say that there was no direct way for the students to access this knowledge.
Then the only reason why Hermione knew about Occulumency was that someone told her, and who else that someone could be besides Nick Iron, who suddenly out of the blue started to show interest in Hermione.
Now he was starting to get worried for Hermione. Nick himself knows Legilemency and it's safe to say that he has Occulumency as well, as a wizard would learn how to save his own mind before going around poking in others.
[But things are not adding up, if this person who told me about mind arts to Hermione was Nick, then why not just outright teach her? He obviously knows how to.] Merlin asked with confusion in his tone.
'Yeah, but there is a possibility that he never intended to teach this to Hermione, possibly he just mentioned this to her and now she is trying to find out about this on her own,' Orion thought.
[Possibly, and there is only one way to find out] Merlin said, pointing at Orion that this is the right time to use his own Legilemency and see what's going on in her head.
"Do you understand ?" Hermione asked as she explained the concept of Occumency to Orion.
"Ah yes, that sounds brilliant, would you mind if I too learn alongside you? I wouldn't mind superhuman memorization skills," Orion smiled.
"It's not memorization you know, in fact, we humans never forget what we see and feel in our life, we just can't recall the information on time, Occulemncy is about arranging your mind to easily access that knowledge and memories while also protecting them from a Legillement attack," Hermione explains in her Hermione-like fashion.
Orion has to say that there is just a different charm about this girl.
"If you say so Ms Granger, but now I am curious. How do you know about something like this? Although not as studious as you, I too have dipped my toes in this place quite a bit and never came across this mind art. How did you learn about that," Orion asked as he needed Hermione to think about the topic before her thoughts resurfaced, only then could Orion enter into her mind to know what really happened.
Orion was just about to enter her mind but she broke eye contact, something usually people do when they are uncomfortable talking about something.
Orion though just became more determined and again lifted his charm restaining spell, drawing Hermione's attention. This time making sure that she can't break eye contact even if she wants to.
[Let's go memory surfing]
----
-10 days ago in Hermione's Memories-
Orion finds himself again in the library but the picture is blurry. A usual scenario when going through someone's memories.
'Is this girl spending all her time in the library ?' Orion's sweat dropped.
He looked around to find Hermione sitting on the exact same bench like it was patent for her. And just like earlier, a boy was sitting in front of her. But this boy was not himself but Nick Iron.
"Come on tell me already, what do you mean by perfect memory," Hermione asked with clear irritation on her face.
This was the first time seeing her and Nick react.
"Oh, so finally Ms Granger doesn't know something, I wouldn't have believed it if it was not happening in front of my eyes," Nick said with a smirk.
[You can't see everything with just eye contact, that needs a full-on legillemency attack. Get what you wanted and get out of her head as soon as possible, otherwise she will start feeling the headache and same with you] Merlin said.
'Yeah, got it,' Orion didn't give much attention to Merlin and kept on watching their interaction.
-----
-Present, Library-
Orion came out with a slight jolt, trying to process all the information he got within the span of a few seconds but it was worth it.
"Hey you are not listening to me again," Hermione pouted and that looked pretty cute, Orion had to agree.
He found out that it was Nick who told her about Occulemency but that was just that, he never mentioned how to practice it. But Orion has his own guess.
The way Nick was talking to Hermione almost sounded like he knew her well. Purposefully giving out only enough information to hook Hermione's attention but not outright teaching her. Like knowing Hermione's character well that she will search for this, herself.
[Yes, there are two outcomes here.
One, he is bunking on Hermione to go after this information herself and not find shit on her own, and then him coming to the rescue of her and offering her to teach the technique] Melrin added.
'Or, he wants Hermione to learn this technique for some reason. Like he wants Hermione to be able to protect her mind from something. Most likely he will provide this 'something' to her after making sure that her mind is protected.' Orion thought.
[Correct, but it can be both. Maybe he wants her favour and tells her about the mind arts, knowing fully well that the girl will want this magic and look for it later on and that is why he purposefully mentions it. And again knowing that there is no information about this in Hogwarts where students can get it, he will lastly offer to teach her, gaining that favour while also telling her that something,] Merlin just agrees and says.
"Will you help me find out about it ?" Hermione looked hopeful at this.
'I very well teach her. If this comes from Nick then it might be more problem to fix later. If there is no way to stop her from learning then I might as well as play along with her.' Orion thought.
[Good Idea, this way you will be involved personally and see what's really going on, but also find an excuse to have mental shields. While your mental shields are strong enough that even attacks from the likes of Dumbledore are not enough to break them, it comes with the cost of exposing your other memories. This right here gives you an opportunity to tell others that you are learning mind arts. After this you can put a weak barrier on your unimportant memories, not good enough for a full-fledged legilemency attack but enough to block any casual mind robbing by just eye contact.] Merlin added and Orion couldn't help but nod at this.
"Of course, I will help, but I don't think that we will learn much in the library. We better ask professors to know more about this mind arts," Orion said, started making his own move in this game of chess.
[Among Us! We decided to call the game Among Us] Merlin said and Orion just rolled his eyes.
xxx
Poor Orion got distracted again from learning about Vampires.
I wanted to add more conversations but didn't get time. I will try to put more interactions with other characters as much as possible from now on.
Why do you think, should we teach this to Hermione? What is that something which Nick want to say to Hermione. ?
