Chapter 357: Chapter 357 : Cool As Hell

Over the years, Orion's life had become a complex weave of research, training, and occasional moments of introspection. His primary focus remained on understanding the power of Guardians and exploring the mysteries behind the command seal he possessed. The seal held secrets he was convinced could lead him to bring back Merlin, it did it once so why not again right.

However, his earlier statement stand still, that the command seal was specially created to summon mage type characters, this one in the other hands wasn't for mage type summons, that were most of his problems lies.

Alongside this, Orion continued his experiments with the Eric's vampire zombie. Testing different kinds of magic on the zombie had become routine, his goal remain to somehow just take that magic from the Zombie, but he found it hard.

This Guardian magic, it was hard to find, he found no traces of any special magic on the Zombie, if not for the fact that this Zombie Vampire indeed hold magic, he would have thought that whatever he learn from Eric was nothing but lies.

Absorbing his magical power always remain an option, however he refrained from doing so. He didn't wanted to make any mistake in hurry. What if he didn't get the guardian power upon absorbing magic from the zombie. This was holding him back from just directly sucking away the magic from that Zombie.

Doing that was his last option but until then, he rather check out if there is any other, more sure sort way to become Guardian.

One day, while working in his lab, Orion sensed something off. The usual growls and grunts of the undead was gone— it was a silent for some reason. Alarmed, he went over to where the vampire zombie was normally restrained, only to find the holding cell empty. Somehow, this creature had managed to slip past his barriers. Orion mentally retraced his steps, remembering how he'd been testing different magic on it just the day before, he hadn't anticipated the damn zombie to run away.

Without delay, Orion set out to track it. He was experienced enough to know that even a single vampire could pose a serious threat, and this can even do magic

"Magic…" suddenly something click inside his head and he quickly look for his wand.

"Fuck…" he roar out.

He left his wand behind last time when he was using magic on the blasted zombie.

"That how he run away, bloody zombie, if he act like one then how come he can still do magic…" Orion rush out knowing that this was now reall troublesome.

Using his magic to follow the faint, decaying aura of the creature, he moved swiftly through the dense forests surrounding the area, his heart pounding at the thought of the creature targeting someone.

And by someone he meant the only person he could think of who live in this forest beside him.

Orion Junior,… it was basically history repeating itself, but now he knew that it was his own fault for that happened in the past.

"Fuckkkk…" Orion quickly ran out and look for the vampire.

After a tense journey, Orion reached a small clearing in the woods. To his surprise, he found someone he hadn't expected—Orion Junior, now older, had chosen to live in isolation in the forest, Beside him was a very familiar face who he missed for years.

"RED…." He almost lost his composure, when he saw the dog there, he almost forgot that this was the time when Red was alive. He hardly interfere with his youger self to remember this. He just have put enough magical wards to protect him and then leave him alone.

But then he quickly came out of his daze, becuase things were already looking bad for his younger self.

He was standing face-to-face with Eric's zombie vampire corpse, which was moving toward him with a menacing, and at the same time it look a lot more human like than a zombie.

Maybe this was something to do with the magic, he was after all was holding Orion Wand right now.

This scene. He remember it so well that it wasn't even funny.

He saw the dog rushing at the Vampire and his heart sank.

"RED…"

Orion felt a jolt of fear and adrenaline. Orion acted swiftly, casting a counter spell strong enough to nullify the effect of the killing curse which the vampire casted on Red.

It doesn't matter, he can save the dog and still maintain the past mostly.

Though it looked like the killing curse struck Red but in reality he was just unconscious due to the magic backslash.

After making sure he save Red, he look into himself, he saw his younger self was looking very pissed off right now. He remembered the feeling.

The Zombie throw a torture curse at the boy and Orion just remain there, watch it happened. Though he wanted to save the boy but this was something that he should go through.

But when the torture curse connected, it self irresistible to not help out his 10 year old self.

Cries of pain and howls rang around the place as his younger self struggle against the torture curse.

This was getting bad, he wanted to help out but just then something happened, the boy's own magic flare out at this time.

Same thing happen as he remembered, the zombie who was now acting much more not zombie like, had much more intelligence in his actions, he use Orion's wand which he stole and throw a killing curse at the boy.

Orion was stiff at this, always ready to save him but still didn't acted immediately.

Orion Junior raised his arm instinctively, stopping the curse, showing the early signs of force, leaving Orion smiling like he was proud of himself.

"Yup, I'm cool as hell."

He had grown strong, but Orion could see something troubling.

He could feel the energy pulsing from the boy, but he also saw how dangerously close he was to pushing his magical core too far. Orion knew it was still fragile, despite the healing he'd done over the years. The boy wasn't aware that pushing himself like this could damage his core beyond repair.

'Internal Integration, is a dangerous technique, while his integration help him absorb magic, internal integration act as a short term power boost. Burning away his own magic to the point he lose the part of magic that he burn away forever. Though it give him a ton of power in that moment but the consequence are usually too much.

This was the only time he had ever use this technique in his life. Never again. And right now the boy was doing the same, and this technique was eating himself away. If not stopped soon then things can go bad real quick.

Orion knew he couldn't wait any longer. If he let this go on, Junior would be seriously hurt—possibly lose his magic forever.

In a flash, Orion acted. With a quick incantation and a powerful surge of his own magic, he moved between them.

Orion quickly grab both of them, his magic stop the boy from using his magic anymore and he already started absorbing magic from the vampire. No Now he no longer cared, it better to have this guy gone then let him make more trouble.

Chapter 358: Chapter 358 : Oh Shit !

As Orion absorbed the vampire's dark magic, he felt an overwhelming surge unlike anything he'd experienced before. The magic was cold, ancient, and raw, filling him with a sensation that was both powerful and unsettling. But as he took it in, something unexpected happened. His own magic began to shift and twist, almost as if it was reacting to the vampire's energy in a way he couldn't control.

Before he could make sense of it, strange, vivid memories started flooding his mind. They poured in rapidly, one after another, flashes of images, voices, places, and people he didn't recognize. He saw scenes of battles he'd never fought in, faces he'd never met, and spells he'd never learned—but somehow, they all felt strangely familiar, as if they were pieces of his own past.

The sheer intensity of the memories overwhelmed him, drowning his senses. He stumbled, feeling a sudden dizziness, and tried to focus, to push the memories aside. But they kept coming, faster and more forceful, clouding his thoughts until he couldn't even remember where he was.

His vision blurred, and he felt his body weakening, his mind slipping under the weight of these unknown experiences. The memories were too much, each one hitting him like a wave, one after another, until he could no longer stay on his feet. Darkness started to close in around him as he fell to his knees, unable to hold back the overwhelming tide.

Finally, his vision went black, and he collapsed, the last remnants of consciousness slipping away. The last thing he felt was a faint sense of confusion and fear, mixed with a strange, haunting familiarity with the memories that weren't his. Then, everything faded, leaving him lying motionless on the ground, lost in the labyrinth of these unknown memories.

Orion found himself drifting through a strange, dreamlike vision. The scene around him was hazy, as if he were watching fragments of someone else's life, unfolding in front of him piece by piece.

First, he saw a quiet village. It was night, and a woman was giving birth in a modest hut. Her face was determined, though worn with exhaustion, and around her were midwives tending to her every need. The child's first cry echoed in the air, filling Orion with an unexplainable feeling of importance, as if this birth held great significance. Then, the scene shifted, and he saw the same boy, but he was older now, around six or seven, running through the village streets. Fear was painted on his small face as he looked over his shoulder. Behind him, villagers were chasing him, shouting insults and curses, calling him a "demon." The boy stumbled and fell, scrambling to his feet as he tried to escape. Orion could feel the boy's loneliness and confusion, his aching question of why he was hated by those around him.

The vision changed again, and now the boy was with an older man, a mysterious figure who looked kind but powerful. This man reached out a hand to the boy, offering him comfort, acceptance, and knowledge. He taught the boy about his innate gifts, explaining that he wasn't cursed but blessed with unique magic. Orion watched as the boy grew under the old man's guidance, his once fearful eyes now filled with curiosity and a hunger to learn. The boy practiced magic tirelessly, and his skills grew quickly.

Time seemed to pass in fast motion. Orion saw the boy, now a young man, traveling from place to place, visiting ancient ruins, meeting scholars, and unraveling the mysteries of magic. His power grew to incredible heights, and soon he was the strongest mage in the world, respected and feared by many.

One day, the young man was approached by a mysterious organization. They spoke to him about a great darkness lurking in the world, threatening to consume everything. They offered him the role of Guardian, a protector who would stand between light and darkness. The young man accepted, taking on the weight of this responsibility with a determination that Orion felt deep in his soul.

The young Guardian's life was filled with battles against creatures of darkness, but also with friendships and alliances. He became a mentor, a teacher to a great king, guiding him with wisdom and strength. His name was known across lands as both a savior and a powerful sorcerer. He worked tirelessly to bridge the gap between the magical and non-magical worlds, fostering peace where there was once conflict.

But as time passed, a new challenge arrived. A young disciple came into his life, someone with the potential to carry on the mantle of Guardian. The young man took him in and began teaching him, hoping to one day pass on the full power of the Guardian to his successor. But just as he was preparing his disciple for this great responsibility, a terrible calamity struck. A darkness, more powerful than anything he had faced before, swept across the land, bringing destruction and despair. In a desperate bid to save his disciple, the Guardian sacrificed himself, pouring his strength and magic into his final spell.

Orion watched in sorrow as the Guardian's life faded, yet he felt something else—a lingering sense of unfinished purpose. In his sacrifice, the Guardian's power had split into two. One half stayed with his disciple, who would grow strong but incomplete. The other half passed to his daughter by the right of inheritance, a young girl who carried his legacy unknowingly. A prophecy hung over them, one that whispered of a future where these two halves would reunite, creating a last Guardian who could end the darkness once and for all.

.

.

.

Orion open his eyes with a jolt, he almost jump up upon gaining his consciousness back. His mind was killing him right now. It felt like he downloaded an entire internet worth of data into his mind. Clutching his head, he looked around only to find the boy was still out and while the pendant in his neck was simmering in night.

Slowly and steadily he got to her and took the pendant, the moment he injected his magic inside it the magic flare out.

Orion almost instantly notice that his magic was different, something has changed, but he didn't had much time to thing about it as soon the pendant light up with blazing light and then suddenly few things out of the pendant came out.

He watch a letter in one of his hand, while there was an egg in another.

He only stood there with an unknown expression on his face.

Just as he was about to open the letter he heard the egg in his hand started to crack.

He was surprise, but remain there until the egg was completely crack open and the next moment he saw a small chick inside it.

Cute… He would have said if not for the next second he notice his magic getting absorb once again, now he was no longer surprise about people treating him like a battery. And the chick in his hand caught in fire.

In second the fire flare out, he didn't even had enough time before he protect himself, and both his younger self and Red who was unconscious there.

The next moment saw the chick in his hand transforming into an majestic Phoenix.

It was an very familiar figure honestly…..'Re…

He was about to call but suddenly the his younger self stir, he panic seeing the boy coming waking up.

He almost on instincts turn into his John Wick self and put shove the letter he was holding from their mother towards him.

"Wake up… You have a letter to read…"

"FUCK… JESUS KEANU….
