Suspense

Lesson One

Suspense

In every action-packed book, you must have suspense. It wouldn't make the reader interested, if there is no suspense.

Suspense

"Suspense is the intense feeling that an audience goes through while waiting for the outcome of certain events." It practically makes the reader want to know more about the intense topic.

When you put suspense, you have to use words to be more dramatic. The genre also needs to have a dramatic tint to it. So for example:

The Man in a Black Suit

I was just watching the beautiful stars. A man dragged me and I screamed. I found myself in a cage. The man was scary. He had a scar. He was mean.

No one wants a book, that boring. Suspense is needed in the story. You should add more to it.

The Man in a Black Suit(Redo)

I was just watching the beautiful stars, the breeze blowing through my face. The stars made shapes and words, as if a sign was telling me something. Until, a random lunatic dragged me. I screamed for help desperately. Later that night, I found myself in a cage, with rats that chewed up my pants. Then suddenly, I saw a man, with a very frightening scar. He was very mean, probably meaner than the meanest person in the world.

This is a more suspenseful, more interesting part of "The Man in a Black Suit."

Suspense is what keeps a reader wanting to read more, to see the "outcome of certain events."
