Kade's black spacecraft landed smoothly in the secluded clearing near a small house. The matte-black ship, hard to spot in the night sky, contrasted sharply with the surrounding greenery illuminated by the night lights.
As the door hissed open, Kade stepped out, the cool evening air wrapping around him like a familiar embrace. He took a deep breath, savoring the crispness that the forest always brought, and started walking down the short path leading to the quaint house. The only house in the middle of the forest.
He stood there taking in the sight of the small house, a place his friend had been staying for his sake. His journey from this point forward was going to be even more troublesome. Though Kade wanted nothing more than to stay with his family, he could only steel his heart and do his missions.
