Here we are today... Fighting mechs in the modern age. We have a girl who is cybernetically enhanced just to keep up with her own sword. On my end I just shoot people I guess that's a talent? "Natalie can you handle them?"
"I can but for some reason they have stronger armor than the one we fought last time I can't just single quickdraw them." Seems like we have to hold them off to fully destroy them. I grabbed one of my M249's and started shooting.
"Seems like they aren't that invincible to bullets then." The bullets aren't deflecting from its outer layer seems like its meant for impact absorbing rather than overall protection. I don't have the exact idea of what it could be but we have to try. "Natalie try attack one of their leg armor! It's probably for impact weapons you might slice through."
Natalie uses her quickdraw attack to see if she can slice through that first layer of armor. The sound of thunder clapping can be heard across the area. Natalie's face is astonished as she sliced through the first layer of armor. As her sword is currently glowing hot from being fired by her railgun scabbard and began removing their leg armor from the two mechs.
I kept shooting my machine gun this time with Armor Piercing rounds to check if there are more parts we can cut down. "I'll take on distracting them with my machine gun. How's on your side Natalie? Find anything we can take down on these mechs?"
"Not yet. Augh, it's annoying to find an enemy that doesn't get sliced up in the first hit. I can't imagine fighting a squadron of these annoying shits." Natalie is very annoyed and is actually hard not to laugh. On the other hand we're still under fire from two fucking mechs.
"Is there anymore weak points you see Vaughn? I'm getting very annoyed here." Right as I expected she did say it herself. That's the Natalie I know.
"Yes, let's take down their main source of power. It should be behind it's head, I've shot a couple of rounds in it seems like it has armor towards penetration I think you can slice that up." As I analyze the heat signature of the robots
"How did you managed to find it?" Natalie clearly forgot I have thermal scanning too.
"Look Natalie just go I don't have enough ammo left to distract these mechs, just go!" Natalie rushes in with another quickdraw attack. And it sounds like it's back to back she can use it twice? Quite deadly, as the sound of thunder clapping two mechs falling onto their knees without power. As Natalie slowly sheaths her sword to finish off her attack as the steam of melting metal radiating from the exhaust vents of the scabbard.
Now that's a person playing with the speed of sound at her disposal. Natalie's weapon is the result of a lot of research and development. One of the first Hypertanas I wasn't part of the development of the sword directly but I know the material that composes that sword. A Human-made special Graphene-infused forged steel that benefits being near an electric source, being a sword that never loses its edge.
I was one of the developers of that metal. What you don't remember that I was a chemist? Sure I was addicted to war that doesn't mean I didn't learn anything of course. Those Hypertanas are really something only 3 in the world exists. Trueno was one of them but her blade was actually a conversion... Not an original from the ground up.
Her blade was taken from her family linage then it gets forged and reformed for this Hypertana program being the first one being converted. I do have mine as well but that sword is unfinished and is unready. I don't know why I'm making one knowing that I can't use a sword. I'm not that talented in sword fighting. And yet it's nice to make something you know you can't use every once in a while.
Natalie seems very satisfied with her blade knowing that it reached its V2 version now which is surprising. She upgraded the sword. "Hey, Vaugh I'll communicate with the Organization you go check for important data on those robots." As she says that she began contacting the Organization.
While I was extracting as much data from them as possible and destroying the evidence. I was surprised when names of my students appearing from the database... Wait... Are they really targeting..? Those fucking bastards, they're gonna target the school with a new mech.
These machines for war... It's ridiculous how fast they managed to perfect these things. Last time they were just prototypes and now this is already fully functional? I can't imagine if we fight another one of them another level of improvements that will hinder us fighting. I need to be prepared for the worst.
I got the data I need and the recipe from Joseph. I'll stockpile a lot of ammunition this is gonna be great! "Hey, Natalie I got the data from them. I'll just erase their black boxes so they won't be recovered by them."
"Oh, sure I was just taking care of the collateral damage report that we probably need to write about. This is one heck of a day I guess. Anyways forgot to ask you this but what did you get out of that guy you talked to." I looked at her while I was fixing up the wires when I was extracting the data.
"I found out that he was just a supplier for the ammunition nothing more nothing less. But he knew that he sold them sub-par munitions and why the two mechs arrived here to dispose him." I say this as I finish wrapping up the guns I used.
"Yes, to dispose him but why two mechs?" Natalie looked confused.
"Remember he's a arms dealer he can just take down those mechs with his gang of men with anti-tank launchers right."
"Oh right, you do have a point there Vaughn."
We finish cleaning up our traces in this operation as we burndown and explode any remaining evidence. As finishing up a hard days work by sending reports to the Organization and gave our sitrep to Maestro. That's the operation done for today. We've gained more information and I earned more than what the Organization needs. But I don't get what Joseph said to me about Null probably doing something worst against me... I guess we just have to be prepared.
Vaughn questions what Joseph left for him to process knowing that the threat is still unknown to them. Did you like the new chapter? If so a review or a comment is much appreciated.
