Chapter 33: Upgrade

Swoosh. Fizz. Swoosh.

Being the inexperienced combatant he was, Alric struggled to maintain a distance from his older brother. In addition, it took him too long to summon an arrow to effectively fight against him. He mainly used his bow to block the sword attacks as Eros incessantly hacked on him over and over again. The pack watched, mesmerized, some cheering for the older one, some for the younger one. Fiera stood on the sidelines, watching the mock battle closely with her ruby eyes.

"Eros," Alric panted heavily between blows. "You know I have no idea what I'm doing!"

"Then start thinking," Eros calmly answered as he suddenly disappeared from sight, only to strike him from behind. Alric barely dodged the attack, losing a few feathers in the process. He hissed in pain. "Once that Tengu sees you, you need to be able to hold out long enough for support to come," Eros continued to explain. "So it's best you start analyzing how I'm attacking you and find blind spots."
