Chapter 41: The Gamble

It was a gamble. One with a deadly outcome should she lose. Right now, Fiera was in the hands of the succubus killer, the Tengu Alric had called "Noboru". Only that Noboru had no idea, he had taken his actual target hostage. As long as she could maintain the illusion, he would believe that she was, in fact, none other than Alric.

"This way, Mr. Alric."

To her surprise, Noboru had already figured out the labyrinthine paths of the Pride building. Within moments they had left through a side door. Outside, he looked at his wristlet with contempt and discarded it. The moment it slipped off his hand, his black-feathered wings appeared as if they were digitally restructured. He stretched them slightly as if to demonstrate his capability of flying.

"Hmph," Fiera dryly commented. "Are you going to princess carry me to your boss or what?"

"Would you like to?" Noboru smirked at her in a challenging way. He demonstratively opened his arms.
