Chapter 37: The Fiend

The hellspawn giant roared out of one mouth while several tongues arbitrarily slapped around. Whenever they hit a building, pieces of concrete and brick were torn off. The group was forced to dodge not only the slimy pieces of flesh but also falling debris. They eventually managed to regroup and retreat to a corner to analyze the situation. Meanwhile, the hellspawn tried to locate them, its plethora of eyes nervously wandering about while its body slowly rotated with the help of its scuttling feet. By now, the area looked like several bombs had detonated, and it hurt Fiera to see her hometown get so brutally wrecked.

"So, what's the plan?" Alric asked. He was so intimidated by the creature that he could not take his eyes away from it for even a moment. The bright pink and blue lights from the street were barely able to illuminate its entire body. The very top disappeared into the dark, humid night.
