Chapter 28: He Knows

Beep. Beep. Beep.

The rhythm of the heart rate monitor had a soothing effect on Alric. Here, he could nod off and dream of the few peaceful months he had enjoyed being a lowly pack member. With heavy eyes, his gaze drifted on to his comatose friend lying in bed.

Aodhan was one of two pack members that were still in critical condition. Trying to be dutiful, the angel regularly switched between the two, hoping his "healing vibes" would help. At least Gwen had said so.

"Mr. Alric!" Laughter. The sweet smile.

For some reason, he had begun to dream of Astrea again, despite knowing now that it had been Fiera all along. Sighing, he opened his eyes and got up, waving his friend goodbye.

Alric had just left the ward when Ming-Ji came around the corner like a lurking predator.

"Wingless One."

Rolling his eyes, Alric merely grunted in response and continued to walk down the hallway.
