Even though he could clearly see through her guise, Alric could not help but focus on the 'Astrea' appearance Fiera had taken. And despite the truth having been revealed, it still hurt him to see her flaunting that image before him like an expensive piece of jewelry he would never be able to afford. In his eyes, she was either too oblivious to notice or just outright cruel, Alric could not precisely make out which it was.

Eros could not help but notice the sudden change in his brother's mood.

"Pride, if you could excuse us, we'll try to contact father." He took a step forward to disrupt Alric's line of sight. Just as he had expected, Alric broke free from his self-afflicted spell and decided to look out the window instead. Below, the city lights were flickering violently. In the distance, flames shot into the night sky. Even though they were up here, he could hear gun fights, cars screeching, and people screaming unintelligible words. How had this situation escalated so quickly?
