Chapter 80: Withdrawals

It came in the middle of the night like he expected it would. 

Luca woke up nauseous and sweating. 

The drugs had completely worn off and he had to deal with the sickness that came along with it. 

Deftly sliding his arm out from underneath Sophia, he escaped to the bathroom where he could empty the few contents in his stomach into the porcelain throne. He shut the door to the bathroom then to the side room where the toilet was located, hoping she wouldn't wake up or hear any of it. 

He had eaten very little in anticipation of that exact feeling. Soon it would result in dry heaving and it would hurt until he drank some water just to start the cycle again. 

When his stomach calmed down for a moment, he sat on the warm floor and leaned his back against the cold tile. Surprisingly, the combination felt good. He begged the tile to ease his fever.
