Byron, dressed in a newly tailored uniform, couldn't help but shake his head in disbelief as he exchanged glances with the other six individuals, all of whom wore equally bitter expressions. Together, they walked into the naval base at Felixstowe Port, mentally preparing for what lay ahead.
It had been three days since Bill and Catherine's "first meeting." The ship tasked with guarding Catherine, along with the Inquisition warship that would soon return to the capital, was filled with Inquisition Knights. During their nearly two-day voyage, the pair had been careful to avoid any appearance of impropriety, denying themselves even a moment alone together.
But after confirming each other's safety in person, their minds were at ease. They were in no rush; time was on their side.
