Chapter 64: Blue Butterflies

The sun had not yet risen when Hope managed to move her legs. She got out of bed with difficulty and went to the window, where she leaned against the windowsill. The moon had reached the tops of the trees, magnifying the shadows of all objects, giving an eerie glimpse of another world.

The words of that strange woman named Daciana still resonated in her mind. She referred to Drake as Agatha's mate. What did that mean? She could not stay here in this room while her man was with another woman. She had to find him. How? Should she take the houses one by one, rushing into each one until she would find him?

The heartache Hope felt was unbearable. Bringing her hand to her chest, she felt the tiny scar that remained where Terix's claw had been. Was the pain physical or spiritual? Or both? Despite her best efforts, she could not figure it out.
