"Fire Style: Great Fire Dragon Technique!"
Tobi quickly formed the hand seals, gathering chakra throughout his body. With the utmost speed, he completed both the nature transformation and shape transformation, spewing a fiery dragon that soared toward Uchiha Tetsuha.
When Uchiha Tetsuha had been fighting Tobi in close combat, he was increasingly surprised.
He hadn't expected that, after just a short break, Tobi had grown so much. Compared to his performance in third grade, Tobi had made tremendous progress.
As soon as Tobi began performing hand seals for ninjutsu, Uchiha Tetsuha immediately began preparing his own jutsu to clash with Tobi. He couldn't believe Tobi's taijutsu had improved so much—there was no way Tobi could have improved his ninjutsu to the same extent.
He couldn't believe that he would lose in a ninjutsu duel against Tobi.
"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!"
Uchiha Tetsuha released his chakra, sending multiple massive fireballs flying toward Tobi.
On one side was the snarling, tooth-filled fire dragon, and on the other was a barrage of fireballs, the two jutsu about to collide.
"Wow, I really envy them. They've already mastered offensive ninjutsu."
Many of the students watching were envious. Some of them hadn't even perfected the basic Clone Jutsu, let alone learned new offensive techniques. They also had no way of accessing such techniques.
"Wait, you're calling him the class underdog?" Students from other classes were astonished. They had come to watch Uchiha Tetsuha's performance but were shocked to see Tobi using such a well-executed Fire Style ninjutsu.
Such skill couldn't be considered underdog material. He was more like an elite student.
"However, I still think Uchiha Tetsuha is stronger. His fireballs seem much bigger than Tobi's fire dragon," one person commented.
They believed that, in a ninjutsu clash, the larger fireballs would be the determining factor.
"Just like the Uchiha clan... I didn't expect Tobi to hide such potential. Even though he's not as strong as Uchiha Tetsuha, his skill level would be enough to earn first place in my class. It's just a shame his theoretical scores are too poor," Kitamura said, evaluating the two while feeling a bit nostalgic about his own student days.
Those from prestigious ninja clans were always different. When he was a student, just mastering the Clone Jutsu was a source of pride.
Based on his display of taijutsu and the ninjutsu he showed, even if Tobi was eliminated in the first round, Kitamura would still give him a decent score.
Just as the two jutsu were about to collide, Tobi's fire dragon suddenly soared upward, avoiding the fireball and continuing to chase after Uchiha Tetsuha.
At the same time, Tobi swiftly dodged the fireballs, maintaining control over his Great Fire Dragon Technique.
Uchiha Tetsuha didn't expect Tobi to suddenly change his approach. He didn't want to engage in a straightforward ninjutsu battle, and Tetsuha had no way of adapting—fireballs couldn't change direction.
Seeing the fire dragon closing in, Uchiha Tetsuha tried to dodge but soon realized it was too late. He had no choice but to brace himself for impact, preparing for injury.
At that moment, Muyu, who had been observing, made his move. He used the Body Flicker Technique to appear beside Uchiha Tetsuha, quickly transporting him out of the battlefield and setting him down outside the area.
"Thank you, Sensei," Uchiha Tetsuha said, grateful. Without Muyu's intervention, injury would have been inevitable.
Muyu nodded in acknowledgment and then announced the outcome of the battle:
"First match: Uchiha Tobi wins."
The students who had been watching were still trying to process what had just happened. The situation had shifted so rapidly that they could hardly comprehend it.
They had all been expecting a full-scale fireball battle, but Tobi had pulled off a clever move and ended the match in an instant.
Had it not been for the teacher's timely intervention, Uchiha Tetsuha might have been injured.
"This Uchiha Tobi is no joke," some students murmured, eyeing Tobi warily.
Uchiha Tetsuha's towering fireballs had looked impressive, but they were difficult to land accurately.
On the other hand, Tobi's Great Fire Dragon Technique was far more flexible, with a smaller attack range but far more likely to strike its target.
"Well done, Tobi!" Rin said, smiling brightly and congratulating him.
She was genuinely happy for Tobi. With his victory over Uchiha Tetsuha in the practical exam, no one would be calling him the underdog anymore, even with his poor theoretical scores.
In the end, it was the ninja's strength that mattered.
Tobi walked over, hearing Rin's praise, and a satisfied grin appeared on his face as he replied, "Heh, I told you I could do it."
At that moment, Tobi was deeply grateful to Muyu.
He knew that all of this had changed because of one thing—he had become Muyu's student, receiving his guidance every day.
If it had been the old Tobi, he would have been outclassed in a taijutsu contest by Uchiha Tetsuha in just a few punches.
[Student Uchiha Tobi's trust level increased, current trust level: 3]
While Muyu was reviewing the exam list, a message from the system popped up.
He glanced at Tobi, who was now smiling and chatting with Rin.
"It seems even a love-struck mind has its benefits," Muyu thought to himself.
Increasing the trust level was difficult. Even one level-up was a huge improvement, doubling the rewards and enhancing the returns from his students.
Before, when his students were still in the early stages, the chakra they returned wasn't much. But as their strength grew, so did the chakra. If a student like Shisui reached a level where his chakra increased by 10,000, and with each trust level increase, Muyu would gain 10,000 extra chakra as well.
Muyu had expected that by the end of the semester, there might be one student with a trust level of 3. But Tobi had achieved it in just one month, which was an unexpected bonus.
The remaining battles weren't as intense as the first match. Most of the fights were over without needing teacher intervention. Muyu sat in his chair, grading students and chatting occasionally with Kitamura.
If it weren't for his responsibility as the examiner, Muyu might have wandered around the area, using his [Identification] skill to see if there were any overlooked geniuses.
He still had one empty spot for a disciple. Muyu wasn't planning to fill it with anyone less than an S-grade potential student.
The more disciples he had, the more rewards he would eventually earn. The ninja world was vast, and there was no need to rush.
Opening his panel, Muyu checked his stats:
Name: Yushou Muyu
Age: 18
Chakra: 5300
Skills: Water Style: Water Severing Wave, Fire Style: Great Fire Dragon Technique, Water Style: Water Barrier, Wind Style: Wind Cutter, etc.
Evaluation: You have mastered numerous ninjutsu, including several high-level techniques. You are capable of handling a variety of situations. An average Jonin is no match for you.
His progress was fast. In one month, his chakra had increased by 1,000, and he had gone from knowing only two jutsu to mastering dozens, including powerful techniques like the Water Severing Wave. If you compared his current abilities to when he first arrived, he could now easily dominate.
By midday, the first two rounds of the practical exam were already over.
However, unlike Tobi, who had made a name for himself, Guy hadn't had the opportunity to do so. His opponents were much weaker, and though he won quickly and decisively, it wasn't enough to completely overturn anyone's expectations.
Still, Muyu knew that Guy's time would come. The class would have its first-place showdown by the afternoon, and the top spot would be decided then.

At noon, in the teacher's office, the teachers were discussing the events they had witnessed during the exam.
"That Hinata Hinomoto from Class Four is amazing. As expected of a member of the Hyuga clan. In that class, almost no one can last even a minute against him," Iketani Yu said with some envy.
"Looks like the first place in the practical exam will go to him again this time."
Iketani Yu wished he were the homeroom teacher of Class Four instead of Class Two. If he had such a talented class, he'd not only earn bonuses effortlessly but could also afford to take his blind dates to high-end restaurants. But that wasn't possible; with such good grades, there was no way they would change teachers.
"I'm not so sure. I think the Uchiha Tobi from your class is also quite strong. He might have a chance to contest for the top spot," Kimura Shinji interjected.
Iketani Yu gave him a puzzled look and asked, "Did you get the name wrong? You must mean Uchiha Tetsuka. His strength is certainly impressive."
"I didn't make a mistake, his name is Uchiha Tobi," Kimura Shinji said confidently, making it clear that he wasn't senile and that he was sure about what he said.
"Uchiha Tobi? That's impossible. What strength does he have?" Iketani Yu looked at Kimura Shinji in disbelief, suspecting that he was just fooling him.
Uchiha Tobi was famously known as the weakest member of the Uchiha clan. If he really had any strength, how could he have earned such a nickname?
"You really think I'm lying to you? Uchiha Tobi's first opponent was Uchiha Tetsuka, and he defeated him quite decisively," Kimura Shinji continued.
Seeing that Iketani Yu still didn't believe him, Kimura Shinji decided to call in Hibiki Mugetsu, saying, "Mugetsu-sensei was also supervising the exam with me. You can ask him."
Iketani Yu looked at Mugetsu.
Mugetsu nodded and confirmed, "What Kimura-sensei said is true. Uchiha Tobi defeated Uchiha Tetsuka in the first round."
"Eh, that's really strange," Iketani Yu scratched his head, feeling puzzled.
He trusted Mugetsu's words because Mugetsu had only been on the job for a month but had already earned the trust of all the teachers. He was extremely reliable.
"Why would he win against Uchiha Tetsuka?" Iketani Yu racked his brain, trying to figure out how this could have happened.
Uchiha Tobi was supposed to be the weakest, so how could he defeat the class's former top student?
It couldn't be that some mysterious teacher secretly taught him advanced ninjutsu, could it?
Watching Iketani Yu's reaction, Mugetsu couldn't help but think to himself, If you're this confused just because Tobi showed some strength, what would happen if Might Guy shows his abilities? You'd probably suspect an illusion technique at play.
Iketani Yu had effectively "won" by being on the right side of things, and Mugetsu figured that Iketani's bonus would be safe now.
Mugetsu thought for a moment and decided that Iketani Yu wasn't purely lucky, as he had done his part. Iketani Yu often asked Mugetsu to substitute for him, helped him with his disciples, and supported him with rewards, so it was only fair that Iketani got some credit.
"The class under Mugetsu-sensei is really impressive," Ueda Aya, who had been silent until now, spoke up. She had been supervising Mugetsu's first-year class.
"The overall level of their basic ninjutsu is almost on par with my second-year class," Ueda Aya remarked with admiration.
"Especially that one called Uchiha Shisui. He's such a genius, it reminds me of Kakashi Hatake from a few years ago. I'm sure he'll be the top in the practical exam for first-year students."
"Compared to Kakashi Hatake? That's quite a claim!" Iketani Yu exclaimed in surprise.
It wasn't so much about being first in the grade, but being compared to Kakashi was something else entirely.
Kakashi was the acknowledged genius of the ninja school in recent years, and his performance had been exceptional. He was promoted to Chuunin just one year after graduating.
"It's true. He's on a whole different level compared to the other first-year students," Ueda Aya nodded, confirming her point.
"That's amazing. Mugetsu-sensei, you're so lucky. You're going to get recognized for sure," Iketani Yu said, filled with envy. He was just happy enough that his bonus was secure.
"What luck? It's Mugetsu-sensei's excellent teaching. You can't say all the talent just happened to end up in Mugetsu-sensei's class," Ueda Aya corrected him.
She didn't believe that the strength of Mugetsu's class came from having more geniuses but from Mugetsu's top-tier teaching skills.
Otherwise, why would students from the substitute classes always request Mugetsu to teach them more?
It wasn't just one or two classes, but all the classes Mugetsu had substituted for had left excellent reviews.
"Oops, my mistake. I know Mugetsu-sensei is an outstanding teacher. My students would be thrilled if I could take a day off so Mugetsu-sensei could teach them instead," Iketani Yu said, sounding a bit dejected.
He usually taught his classes himself, but the students always preferred Mugetsu's lessons.
"It's not so bad. The students are just working hard enough," Mugetsu said modestly.
After chatting with his colleagues for a while, Mugetsu soon started practicing calligraphy until the afternoon exams began.
It was still at Training Ground 16, but fewer people had come this time because students who had already been eliminated from the competition weren't required to attend. They could choose whether to show up or not.
As time passed, one battle after another was fought. Nohara Rin, who wasn't very skilled in combat, was eliminated in the first round in the afternoon.
Meanwhile, Might Guy, who could cleanly and efficiently defeat any opponent, finally caught everyone's attention.
"So, Might Guy's Taijutsu is this strong? His speed is incredible. He knocked out Daike with a single kick!" the students watching exclaimed in surprise.
"This is a huge change. I remember in the third year, he was just... okay. He wasn't this strong," a student who knew Might Guy was a bit confused.
"Maybe he worked really hard during the summer and the new semester?" The student could only speculate.
"The last match. Number One, Uchiha Tobi, against Number Forty, Might Guy. Please prepare for the battle," Mugetsu announced, revealing the last match of the class's practical exam.
Both Might Guy and Uchiha Tobi exchanged a glance and quickly walked to the arena, ready for their battle.
"Guy, I'm not going to give you this first place," Tobi said, glancing at Rin who was standing on the outside, feeling determined.
In front of Rin, Tobi absolutely did not want to lose.
"Same here. If I want to be the strongest, I have to claim every first place I can get!" Might Guy replied, full of enthusiasm.
"They really made it to the final round," some students who had previously mocked them said, feeling a bit embarrassed.
It seemed unbelievable to them. In the third year, these two were still considered the bottom of the class. Who would have thought they would become so strong in the fourth year?
Before the exam started, no one would have thought that Uchiha Tetsuka would be knocked off the top spot.
They couldn't imagine how much these two had trained over the summer and new semester.
After exchanging some fiery words, Might Guy and Uchiha Tobi stopped talking and assumed their combat stances, making hand seals for the start of the match.
"Begin!"
