"This question is quite open-ended, but I can give you the range of possible conclusions I foresee. This is primarily, an act of terrorism, which is unsanctioned by the ruling body, the Ministry of Magic. As I see it, the most ardent supporters of the cause, would tend to be the ones who are currently in a position of power. And yet, they are the minority of the society, who have the means, material, money and motive to support this uprising. But the common people would not be willing to support the cause, or what it represents."
I saw, that I had captivated my audience. I took a pause, to take a deep breath and I continued.
"The saying goes Vox populi, Vox dei. But here those in power seek to silence the voice of the masses. This can only be achieved through unchecked terror, unjustified horror and tyranny imposed upon the masses, wherein they are taught to curb their opposition, or face the horrors inflicted upon others.
In some ways, this is the antithesis of the French Revolution, but instead of a certain singular individual or entity being revolted against, the Dark Lord seeks to rule with fear and despotism. This means, he is either faced with an equally powerful Champion of Light, or he goes unchecked until those outside his sphere of influence, who are not afraid of him lay siege to his ambitions.
I can therefore, see this ending in the following ways: either the ones who stubbornly oppose his tyranny manage to assassinate him, the Dark Lord gets defeated in a glorious duel at the hands of someone like Dumbledore, or Dumbledore himself, or Dumbledore manages to organise a band of like minded individuals within his own sphere of influence, and opposes and fails to keep the Dark Lord's forces in check at the end of which, the Ministry of Magic officially falls to the Dark Lord, and Britain is lost.
At least until ICW decides to do something about it, and like the Churchill's speech, help arrives beyond the seas, when the new civilization comes to the rescue of the old. But come what may, this Dark Lord would be incompetent in extending this conflict beyond the UK, and his cause insufficient to grant him any decisive victory on the global political scale."
Seeing my mother wanting to interrupt thinking my speech is done, I add hastily, "Of course, all this would come to pass, if and only if, the Statute of Secrecy is not broken, the Ministry does not oppose the English Crown, the Dark Lord doesn't commit a mindless blunder, and there are no dissenters to his cause, who become turncoats. And of course, since it is magic, the Fate Sisters must be paid their dues as well. After all, they are fickle and unfair. And ambition must always pay its dues to them or face their schemes."
Now all my family members were looking at me in awe. "You are a scary child Leonardo." My grandfather couldn't help but comment.
My father still had his questions. "But why do you think the Ministry Aurors and Hitwizards would not be able to act? After all, not all purebloods would be willing to accept this."
I looked at my father as if he was an idiot. Admittedly, that one look was so sufficiently capable, that my father flinched and bowed his head in shame, before looking up in irritation, and about to growl back something. But I interrupted him.
