Chapter 228: Damien’s Kidnap

''You…what?'' Isla did not know how to react upon hearing those words. Her forceful struggles paused and her stares in Dante were more serious than ever.

''What do you mean by those words?'' She instantly asked.

''Duke hayes, I don't think this is the time for silly jokes.''

''This is not a joke, Isla. I didn't submit the divorce papers….No…it would be more accurate to say that the emperor did not accept our divorce.'' Dante gave more explanation. 

Other than disbelief, Isla felt puzzled hearing that the emperor was included. The emperor? Why was he involved in the submission of the divorce papers?

Why and when did he get involved in their divorce? Just as she was about to ask for more information, the door leading to the drawing room suddenly bursted open, and a familiar maid scurried inside, looking so flustered and anxious.
