Phraser drove in silence as I replayed what had happened in less than ten hours. One thing I was grateful for is Derrick prepared us for this since we we're children. I obviously knew more than my brothers but he only did that because he knew that when the right time came, I would be able to protect my brothers.
And blossom! I couldn't believe that I kissed her without her consent. Everytime I bite my lip my mind runs back to her. It is like I can taste how soft, plump and beautiful her lips felt on mine all over again. It's like we fit, in a good, very good way. I had to have her again and taking her with me to New York without Jackson breathing down her neck sounded like the best idea at the moment.
I heard my phone bip and I immediately checked it. I smiled a little at Ace's call and picked it up.
"Hey A! How is Rosie holding up?" Phraser frowned and I put the phone on speaker. We heard shuffling on the other side of the line and waited patiently for his response.
"Well...:-" He trailed off letting out a long frustrated sigh.
"She asked alot of questions and yelled for us to kill Vladimir. And she asked about you and Phray."
"She doesn't have to ask twice and we're fine. She shouldn't worry about us." Phraser said and took a right turn as soon as the bold letters of Kingsley came in view. He drove through the front gate and drove around campus to our spot.
"I tried! But she wouldn't listen then she got all hysterical so we uhm." He trailed off shyly and I could invision him scratching the back of his head.
"Ace, what.Did.You.Do?" Phray spoke harshly. I frowned waiting for my dear ol' little brother's reply.
"We had to sedate her." Phray's jaw dropped and I smirked.
"Good. Call if anything happens." I hung up and unfastened my seatbelt. Phray glared at me as he turned off the car's engine.
"You're sadistic."
"Or so I've heard." I put on my sunglasses and stepped out. He followed suit and we walked to our lockers quietly without waiting for the others.
"I'm sorry! Remind me why we had to come to school again?" Phraser said walking beside me.
"We need to talk to Jake and Hayes and plus, you're the one that said we need dates." I shrugged pulling my backpack closer.
"We could've called them over at home." I frowned in confusion.
"Our dates?"
"No you idiot, Jake and Hayes." He rolled his eyes and pulled out his phone. I leaned against my locker and I cast a glance at Blossom's. A small smile arose on my lips when I noticed her with her friends and Al a couple of feet away but it was cut short when I felt a punch to my shoulder.
"What happened yesterday? You guys left in such a hurry, you didn't pick up any of our calls and then you waltz in here at 7:30 in the morning with these sunglasses on even though it's not that sunny out and Ace isn't....:-" Jake trailed off casting a quick glance around the hallway.
":-where the hell is that boy!" He threw his hands in the air dramatically and glared at me.
"He's in New York. I'll fill you in on what happened later." I spoke looking where Bloss was but she'd already gone. I internally groaned and looked back at the boys.
"You better. Al's worried sick about the three of you." Hayes sighed going over to his locker.
"We'll talk during lunch alright! I gotta run before the bell goes." Hayes fist bumped us with a bro hug and we went our separate ways.
The day went painfully slow. Everytime a teacher said something, I'd feel like my head is about to burst open. Partly because I had zero sleep yesterday and it was starting to take a toll on me. I gobbled up more water and tried to calm the throbbing headache. As if God was on my side, the bell rang signalling lunch and I was the first one to leave for the cafetaria.
"Hey man! You look like shit." Hayes said taking his spot. He stared at me and sighed to himself.
"Did you even get any sleep yesterday?" He asked with worry. I shook my head side ways, not in the mood to engage in a verbal conversation at the moment. Jake and Phraser took their spot and the chefs laid out food on our tables.
"Where's Alessa?" I asked groggily. Jake nudged his head and I followed his line of sight.
"She's with her new girlfriends." I watched Al talk with her friends and I couldn't help but smirk. Blossom looked up and we made eye contact. I smiled but she looked away and bit her lip.
"Hey guys!" Alessa beamed looking at all of us but frowned when she realised a face was missing.
"Ace went to New York. They'll explain everything later." Hayes said looking at the food hungrily.
"O..kay." She said with a frown. She walked over to Phray and gave him a light kiss on the cheek to which he smiled in response. She came over to me and did the same examining my face.
"Here." She handed me advil and her bottle of water. I smiled grateful for her amazingness and took the pills happily. She smooched my hair back and sat next to Jake. We ate our food in silence, contrary to other days. But other days we didn't get a call of our parent's kidnapping. I noticed Phray playing with his food before pushing it away.
"I'm full." He announced taking a sip of his glass of juice.
"But you barely even ate!" Al mumbled and looked over at me so I can back her up.
"Phraser, we need all the energy we can get so eat up." I tried to reason but he scoffed.
"Okay! Time to talk." Alessa said with a serious look on her face.
"What happened yesterday?" She asked once again looking at me and Phraser. I stretched my neck as I felt the advil start to kick in. I noticed Blossom leaving the cafetaria and I stood up.
"Damon, where are you going?" Hayes asked grabbing my hand. I pushed him off and cleared my throat.
"Uhm, I need to go to the men's room. Phraser will explain everything." Phraser nodded his head and I followed her. I looked back at their regular lunch tables to find Jackson looking at me. I smirked and pushed the double doors open, leaving his line of sight.
I speed walked trying to catch up to her but she entered the ladies' room and I groaned in annoyance. I checked if anyone was looking and entered once I deemed it safe. I checked under the restroom stalls to check if anyone was in here apart from Bloss but I didn't see anyone. I locked the door and leaned against it.
Blossom came out of the stall and cleaned her hands throughly. I watched her reflection in the mirror and smirked. Her big white shirt looked good tucked in her blue jeans and white sneakers.
"Hello Blossom!" She let out a defeaning scream and I winced.
"What in the world are you doing here?" She yelled putting a hand over her chest.
"I wanted to see you." I spoke truthfully. She rolled her eyes and wiped her hands turning away from me.
"What are you talking about?" She mumbled looking down.
"I just...:-" I trailed off encircling her waist with my arms. I rested my head on her shoulder and she froze.
"want to ask you something." I mumbled inhaling her scent. I smiled a little when I felt her shudder. I kissed her neck tenderly and her lips parted in a soft gasp. We looked at each other in our reflections for a while. We just stood there in silence, waiting for her to relax. I gently turned her to face me and I tucked her wavy brown afro behind her ear.
"You look so beautiful today." I said and pecked her cheek.
"Good to know I looked ugly yesterday." She mumbled cracking a joke. I laughed a little and cupped her cheeks. I pulled her in for a kiss but she stopped me.
"I can't." She mumbled pulling herself away from me.
"Why?" I asked, disappointed that she'd do this AGAIN.
"Because I just can't okay!"
"No. Not okay! Tell me why Blossom."
"I am not one of those girls that just sleep with guys for fun. That's not me and I won't do that with you." She said folding her arms over her chest.
"Oh and I don't 'make out' either if that's what you're thinking about. I am a girl who respects herself and has something called dignity so I won't let what happened yesterday happen again. Not unless you uhm:-" She trailed off biting her lip.
"Not unless I what, Bloss." I smirked taking a step towards her.
"It's nothing, never mind." She mumbled avoiding my gaze.
"Okay. I'll say it for you then:-" I cleared my throat and took her hands in mine.
"Not unless I take you out on a fancy date?" She scoffed and tried pulling her hands away but I held on.
"Not unless we get to know each other! And definitely, definitely not unless I ask you to be my girlfriend?" She rolled her eyes but I saw a faint smile on her lips.
"Yeah! I think I covered all the 'unless' unless, there's something else you'd like to add?" I watched her debate with herself. She sighed and shoved me away lightly.
"Well...last but not least:-" She turned to look at me with determination. A look all too familiar.
"Not unless you're ready to face and be able to talk to my family and friends." She smirked and crossed her arms over her chest. I gulped and visibly tensed.
"Yeah. I knew you we're not cut out for this. I mean, ur the one that tells everyone 'I don't do relationships'." She scoffed and walked past me. I held her hand and pulled her back to me.
"Now sweetheart! You don't get to think on my behalf and decide for me."
"You need to lighten up and cut me some slack. You're right! I have never done relationships before but it doesn't mean I can't try so please, you need to trust me."
"Trust is earned, not just handed out."
"I know! But how I'm I to do that if all you think of me is bad?" I cupped her cheek and held on to her waist.
"Let me show you okay!" She nodded her head and sighed. I smiled and nodded my head too.
"Now may I please kiss you because I've been dying to since the first time I saw you." She blushed and looked away from me.
"Not quite yet smarty pants." She laughed hitting my chest playfully. I groaned and hit my feet on the ground pouting.
"Oh fuck! I forgot what I actually wanted to ask you." I hit my forehead and rolled my eyes.
"I'll need you to accompany me to New York for a ball. It's in a week or so." She gasped in shock and looked at me wide eyed.
"Are you crazy?" She asked.
"It's for a day or two and we'll be back. Take it as our first trip as a couple!" I trailed off. The words sounded foreign to my ears.
"We're not yet there." She rolled her eyes.
"But we will eventually." I shrugged with a frown. She hummed and chuckled.
"So is that a yes!" I beamed.
"It's not a no!" I high fived her and we laughed at ourselves.
"So do you ask girls out from restrooms or is it just me!" I laughed and shook my head side ways.
"You're an exception Ms.Wright."
"Well don't make it a habit, Stone." She mumbled walking out of the restroom. I helped her open it and we marched out to an empty hallway.
How did we not hear the bell ringing?
"Oh boy! I am so dead for being late. I'll see you later Stone." She sprinted down the hallway and I laughed out loud.
"I hate you." She yelled running further away. I chuckled in response and walked to my class.
