Chapter 20: I'm right next to you.

Jake leads me to his room, pulling me away from everyone else in the house. When he shuts the door and turns towards me, he blows out a deep breath -

"What did the Doctor say? How do we manage this?" He asks. I pat the seat next to me on the bed and when he sits down beside me, I repeat everything the doctor told me. Jake listens carefully, his eyebrows burrowed together as he absorbs all of the information. After I've finished speaking, he remains silent.
