Chapter 44: Empathy

Carolina shivered in fear. Geremia was so angry.

"I didn't do anything to her" Carolina said.

"So you weren't the one who planned with Vanna Vegas to humiliate her? Because I saw you" he told her.

"I…I…I" Carolina stuttered. Anytime she was nervous, she always stuttered.

"You what? Do you want to lie again?" Geremia asked her.

"No, no, I….I…I won't lie, I did manipulate Vanna into causing trouble for Camilla" she said.

"Aren't you ashamed of yourself? Your father killed her father, took over her family, drove her brother into hiding, sold her to be auctioned away and yet you won't leave her alone. You still cause trouble for her. Don't you think that you are evil?" Geremia asked her.

Carolina kept quiet and didn't answer him.

"I told you to answer me when I ask you questions" he told her.
