Chapter 57: Drunk

Eiravyne blinked, trying to clear the haze from her vision as she faced the tall man before her.

 His striking features and the intensity of his gaze sent a shiver down her spine. 

His dark, slicked-back hair framed a face that exuded an unsettling charisma, dressed impeccably in an elegant suit that spoke of wealth and power.

Her head spun slightly from the wine, but she remained wary of the man's intentions. 

"Who... who are you?" she managed to ask, her voice wavering with unease.

The man's smile widened, but it held a hint of something predatory beneath its charm. 

"I am Alaric Forton," he replied smoothly, extending a hand towards her as if expecting her to acquiesce to his presence.

Eiravyne instinctively stepped back, her instincts warning her against any physical contact with this stranger. 

She felt vulnerable and exposed in his presence, a feeling compounded by the fog of alcohol clouding her thoughts.
