Billie Bob Taylor
I woke up with a deep sigh as I rolled over to my left side and reached out for Benedito, yet his cold side told me he had left the bed moments prior. With a groan I rolled onto my right side and fluttered my eyes open. I saw a flicker of gold which peaked my interests.
I opened my eyes further and saw the gold wrought head board I had gotten for Benedito for his birthday. Nothing registered in my mind still as I looked at the bedside table that had a small American flag with a Texas State flag on it.
My head recoiled slightly as I felt my face heat up. I sat up and frantically looked around as I looked at everything inside the room. The wooden cladded wall, the cow skin rug, the native rugs! I was in our Houston house.
For a moment I thought I was dreaming so I slapped my face just to make sure. The pain radiated instantly! So there I sat on our bed, holding my very sore cheek and staring around the room incomplete bewilderment.
