Chapter 1: The End... or the Beginning
Jack didn't understand why this was happening to him. All he did was help people. He didn't know that he was becoming too powerful or even if he did, why would it matter if he was only protecting the people he cared for? He defeated foes that no one else could defeat because he was a hero. When he was younger he was always better than others because he was just that great. He wasn't arrogant; he never challenged people he knew he couldn't beat. Okay, that might be a lie but he knew he could do something to beat his opponents and he did most of the time... until now.
"Why are you doing this?" Jack asked weakly.
"Because you are getting too strong Jack. What if you decide we are worthy of your protection any more or if you decide to betray the humans and kill us? we can't defend ourselves if you do that, you are too powerful for us to go against in a 1-to-1 battle." Answered Anthony. Anthony was Jack's friend. Jack knew Anthony since they were kids. He was there when Jack lost his family to the undead.
The reason he even became a hero was to not let that happen to anyone else. He didn't want them to go through the same pain he did.
"I would never betray the humans. Why would I betray the people I've protected for years now? Does it makes sense to go back on all the promises I've made to everyone?" Jack retorted.
"PEOPLE ARE AFRAID JACK!" Anthony Yelled. "I'm afraid as well.
"WHY WOULD I WANT TO HURT MY BEST FRIEND? YOU'VE BEEN WITH ME FOR AGES! THROUGH THICK AND THIN. We have been through so much together. "Jack yelled back at Anthony. He didn't understand why Anthony would think he would betray him of all people. Anthony was his brother not by blood but still his brother.
"I'm sorry Jack. I hope in the next life it will go better for you. Goodbye..."
At this point all jack could hear was sorry Jack then it all went black.

Jack opened his eyes and saw nothing. He was confused. He thought he died, no he knew he died so he's confused about where he is.
"Where am I?" Jack asked himself then he turned around. All he saw was a colossal entity behind him.
"You're dead Hero. How does it feel? The people you protected, the people you thought you could trust, the people you loved betrayed you."
"It hurts. Who are you?"
I am a God, who your people hates."
"So your the God of Death, Mictlantecuhtli (Aztec God of Death)?"
"Yes that's who I am."
"Why am I here? I've slaughtered many undead."
"Because I want revenge on what you did. I also know you want revenge the humans. They betrayed you because you were getting to strong. You feel hurt by it."
"Yes I want revenge but why choose me?"
"Because you are strong, very strong."
"Oh so that's why?"
"Yes that's why"
Jack knew the god was lying but he couldn't really question a god.
"I'm willing to give you a bit of my power to help you in your journey but you must do as I wish."
What type of power?"
"You will know when you return to the world of the living. For now do not worry."
"Fine!"
"It's time for you to go back Hero."
"Okay will be I be in my old body or a new body?"
"You will have a new body because you have been dead for a while now."
"Do you know how long it has been?"
"It has been 7 years since you have died."
Jack was sad to know 7 years have passed since he has died. He wanted to take revenge as soon as he got back to the overworld. He could guess his new body would not be strong because most people were not that strong.
"So long."
"Time to go"
"Goodbye."
