Chapter 79: I...Don't Get It

A brutal finals week had ended but Justin was oddly energetic as he showed up on Emily's doorstep with a bouquet of daisies for their date. Sam, who had forgiven him enough to text him a reminder not to wear a graphic tee the night before, suggested he wear a dark blue button up short-sleeved shirt because it would make him look classier.

She opened the door and had an expression of surprised delight upon seeing the flowers. Her emerald eyes, accentuated by the dark green blouse with a bow tied around the waist, sparkled in a way that stole all the air from his lungs.

"Thank you! I love daisies. Aren't they such a friendly flower?"

Justin nodded mutely in response before finding his voice. "Shall we?"

"Let me just find a vase for these real quick," she said before dashing inside with her present. "Come on in."
