Chapter 34: SMALL DISTANCE (2)

Jie Lan swayed with a sudden scream but it was her sister Wei Lan in her embrace, she could not react immediately, she was in trance for moments then she recovered and screamed with happiness to see her intact and better condition.

Henan was standing away; she expected this scene though Jie Lan was holding herself in front of Henan Henan knew that her heart was not at rest after her sister was gone her, she could not stop Crown Prince from taking her away but her heart was not at rest all the time.

"I am glad Wei Lan to see you but who saved you I should thank that soul to bring back my sister safe, her eyes were pouring rain and it looked that it needed time to realize that to her.

"A guard of Miss Henan Zhong saved me," she pointed toward Henan.

Jie Lan ran toward Henan and with a thud, she embraced ground to say her thanks to Henan, Henan helped her to stand up, "Only smile suits on the face of my caretaker and never forget it."

After settling a few things and giving orders t both sisters she went in her room.

She knew she had only four hours for preparations, she packed small necessary things; she passed some orders to the guards and set out.

She wore an ordinary dress to remain unnoticed, she planned to hide in resources cart, she can't go north border officially, if this was the matter she would go there unofficially.

She sneakily walked toward resources cart and cloaked in one of them, though it was inconvenient she had to bear it to reach the northern border.

Sometimes carts would run fast and sometimes slow, it was suffocating due to lack of fresh air under the covered cart.

It was night and cart stooped and their leader proposed them to stay for the night and then move on in the morning, she had small portions of food, and she ate silently. She removed the cover of the strong sheet for fresh air.

Next day they reached the northern border, all carts and soldiers reached to the construction site, a cart was drawn close to the tent of the prince, and it contained the things that King sent for Prince. Prince ordered different duties to newly arrived martial soldiers and then ordered his personal servant to empty the cart and bring everything in his tent which King sent to him, he was standing in front of his camp.

His personal servant went to empty the cart, he removed a strong cover sheet and in the light of the full moon he saw head, he recoiled several steps back with the fear.

What could it be, Prince picked up his reaction.

He ran to Prince to tell that he had seen a ghost of his ancestor.

"There someone…" servant of feared enough, he could not say much, Prince unsheathe his sword and went toward cart, he briefly looked at someone and gasped, 'Hen'er' and she stood up, he was blankly looking at her with questioning eyes.

She got off from the cart, "There have been months that I did not see you so I manage to come here," "let's talk in the tent," he said curtly, there was uncertainty and this girl have no sense of responsibility.

He was angry at her act coming here in such conditions, if something had happened to her during the journey, it would be irreparable no matter how hard he would have tried.

"Why you wanted to see me?" he asked more curtly, this time she felt his anger too. She lowered her head because Wan Hu never spoke to her this way.

He also felt her anguish.

"Ok, sit here," he helped her to sit properly and then gave water; she drank it but kept silent. This camp was not made to provide luxury rest and Wan Hu understand that he was not here for merrymaking, so this camp was only built and furnished according to his needs.

He rose up from his seat and knelt his knees to sit in front of her chair, "You must have traveled painful journey while hiding in the cart, you should have wait for me in the Palace, it would have more convenient for you Hen'er," he tapped on her head polity.

"Why you took the arduous journey to see me?" he questioned again the same question but this time polity. "Because I had a dream," with this two round drops of tears fell on her lap. "What dream?" he looked more puzzled.

In the previous month, his mother sent him a letter and with all caring and concerning words, she gave hint to him that in next year bride choice ceremony Henan was the most agreeable choice in all other choices, though it was the only hint he understands the intentions of his mother, he did not tell his mother that he was thinking about it too.

He was sure about his own choice from the past many years.

"I had a dream that you were surrounded by hundreds of Fang Men and you were injured too and then…" she fell on her knees and hugged Wan Hu, he felt a warm sensation on his chest, Henan was grown up, he could not push her back nor could support her.
