Chapter 43: Breakfast Banters

The next day, Christina woke up to the morning rays filtering through the balcony. Reylan had allowed her to use the bed, stating that he had some office matters to attend to and would be staying in the study room. She was grateful for his thoughtful gesture, and while thinking about her mother, she eventually succumbed to sleep. 

With a sigh, she got up and walked to the bathroom to get ready for work. Once done, she walked downstairs, the murmurs from the workers puzzling her. With a frown, she walked towards the dining hall, her eyes catching sight of a crowd standing in front of the kitchen. 

"What's going on?" She inquired, taking a seat next to Blaze who merely smiled in response. 

"You will know very soon," He murmured, his smile fading as Beatrix entered, dampening their mood. After her last mistake, Grandpa Theo had made sure to keep her grounded, but she must have escaped last night in her cat form, he thought, glaring at the stubborn woman.
