''No, Jason. That's bad language.'' Ayana barely registered Noah, correcting her little brother for her own slip. If it weren't for her sudden recollection, she'd have done it herself.

''Ayana, are you fine? Did I say something wrong?'' Noah questioned with worry. He replayed their conversation before this sudden silence and assumed he hadn't said anything wrong.

Why was his first cousin behaving this way then?

''...'' Ayana did not respond and stayed silent for a short moment.

''I-I need to leave.'' She then stuttered in a shaky voice and quickly stood up from the chair.

''Ayana?'' She ignored Noah's worried gaze and strode out of the dining room, leaving him and her little brother watching her retreating figure.

''How could you forget Ayana?" Out in the hallway, she whispered to herself, almost freaking out.
